Doxylamine for Insomnia "Couldn't sleep last night. Finally at 3 am, I looked in the cabinet and found this. I took 2 blue tablets. 30 mins, I was asleep. A friend texted at 10 am, woke up, and I was extremely groggy, unsteady, and had heavy eyelids. Just felt weird. I drank a cup of coffee and was still groggy. Hours later, I still felt bad. Went back to bed at around 2. I decided to check out what the heck happened. Looks like I took too much. It did put me to sleep at the expense of my Saturday off feeling like crud. Will try 1 next time. 2 was too much for sure."

For Insomnia "My bedtime got later and later until it was early morning as I wasn't tired and never fell asleep when I went to bed. Brain was overactive continually. Bought a packet of Doxylamine and took one tab an hour before bedtime. Relaxation kicked in one and a half hours later, and I slept solidly for 12 hours! Totally useless the next day as groggy and no energy. The next night cut the tab into quarters, but that proved too little as I had no effect. Will take half a tab tonight, which hopefully will be the right amount. It relaxed tension and brain activity and teeth gritting, so for me, seems a muscle relaxant enabling my mind to let go and shut down. Subconscious anxiety is my problem that prevents sleep. I am a worrywart."

Doxylamine for Insomnia "I've been having problems with going to sleep at night for a while now and saw Unisom advertised on a commercial, so I decided to try something for the first time. I would say it kicked in about an hour after taking it - I still went to bed late, just not as late as usual. I slept the whole night through, but in the mornings, I would be more tired and still in bed until a little after 1 pm. Not a morning person, but I hate getting up that late, after 11 is too late for me, but I still be in bed tired. So that's my only problem!"

For Insomnia "I have suffered from insomnia for decades and have tried many types of drugs for this issue. I'm currently tapering off clonazepam and have found the Unisom tablets very helpful. If I take half a pill, I fall asleep within an hour and usually am able to go back to sleep in the night. Took a whole pill last night and slept soundly. I feel a bit tired today and will try to make do with half a pill from now on. Nothing worse than insomnia!"

For Nasal Congestion "I'm one of the unlucky ones. I took 20 mg, and today my head feels like 5 tons, complete lethargy, cannot get up, cannot function, massive pressure in my skull, electric shocks, and pretty much incapacitated. Thank you, but no thank you!"

For Insomnia "I took 25 mg of Doxylamine for the first time, only for one night so far. I took it at 8:30 pm, it put me to sleep quickly. I did wake up a couple of times during the night. Like most of the reviews, I woke up feeling very tired, unable to push myself out of bed at normal time. I had a slight headache, and my legs are hurting from it. Feeling very tired at the moment. I do hope it wears off soon."

For Insomnia "Assisted me to fall asleep, not necessarily stay asleep. Also, I felt awful the next day-so heavy and lethargic, short of breath. It was a struggle to keep awake and look after my 8-month-old baby. It was one of my hardest days as a new mum to care for him."

For Insomnia "I was prescribed this for all-day nausea during my first trimester of pregnancy -- I really don't think it did anything helpful at all. They also had me try it in combo with Vit B6 - which I think actually made my nausea worse. To be fair -- I tried several other things, including ginger, sea bands, diet changes, and nothing helped me. Unisom may have helped me fall asleep?? -- but that wasn't really an issue anyway. I do think I was more tired during the day when taking it (could have been because I was miserable from the nausea too though). Maybe worth a try -- but not helpful at all for me."

For Insomnia "Using 4 weeks or so. Initially half a tab since I'm sensitive. I wasn't experiencing severe grogginess as with another sleep aide years ago. But it didn't always put me to sleep, and I would wake often. Now using the full dose, sleep came sooner and harder, but I still wake at least once a night, and though there's no extreme grogginess in the morning, it makes me sleep about 10 hours and takes me a couple of hours to wake up. I have begun taking a natural-based energizer to wake up and also drinking black tea, and this morning I also took an extra 'energizing' daily vitamin plus a green tea capsule. I never seem to fully wake, I am feeling exhausted, and I notice irritability and a foul mood. I'm not going to keep using it. Worse than before I started."

For Insomnia "Works like magic. Cons - you feel tired and sleepy when you wake up. But after drinking some coffee, it's all right."
Doxylamine for Insomnia "I have tried melatonin (3 mg) to help sleep during the day, as I work 3rd shift, but it doesn't work as well as I'd like. So, I figured I would give Unisom a try. My head feels like a pressurized can ready to explode, headache, diarrhea, a slight labored breathing/weight on chest feeling, and completely lethargic. Missed work as a result. Won't be taking this again."
