Cardizem CD (diltiazem) "I was on a beta blocker for high blood pressure. After chemo, I developed Right Ventricular Outflow Tachycardia. After heart ablation, they switched me to 240mg Cardizem ext rel. I have been on it since 2015. I was not overweight, in decent shape, 50ish. Went for a hike and my ankles swelled. The last few years on it I have developed lots of spider veins in my legs. It seems to work decently keeping my blood pressure down and heart arrhythmia in check but I am concerned with what this is doing to me long term. I would like to get off it."

Cartia XT (diltiazem) "Not really sure if this drug is for me. My blood pressure is still not normal, and neither is my heart rate. It more likely raises it. Also, occasional skipped beat feeling."

"I just started 240 mg for high blood pressure/high heart rate. Although I felt fine, my legs and feet swelled up. Talk about major fluid retention!"

Dilt-XR (diltiazem) "So far it has been okay. I took it once before a shower with a Clonidine and a Glyburide, and that was a mistake. I should not have taken the Clonidine. Previous to starting the Dilt XR I was taking Clonidine and Glyburide before a warm shower because it helped keep my blood pressure and blood sugar in check. But taking them when I also had the Dilt XR made me feel like I was going to pass out. My mistake. Has anyone else noticed a foul taste in the capsule? In just the seconds it takes me to get my drink and swallow the pill I get a dead taste in my mouth. It’s terrible, and makes me worry about what the capsule is made from, or if it went bad."
