"I have been reading all these negatives. I beg to differ. My daughter has been on Apri for almost a year now and she has lost 25 lbs., her face is now beautiful and smooth, no more acne!! It curbs her appetite tremendously. I have to mention that she needed to lose the weight. I have nothing but good things to say about these pills. No negative side effects. I only wish they had these when I was a teenager."

"I've tried many different birth controls for about 3 yrs prior to taking Apri. I took Apri for my acne & birth control for 2 yrs & it worked great. I decided to stop taking birth control altogether about 1.5 yrs ago. My acne came back immediately but my periods were lighter and I didn't have cramps while I was off of it. My dermatologists prescribed me Accutane for my acne but I decided to try birth control again. I've been taking Apri for 4 months & my skin is basically completely clear. Maybe 1 or 2 when it's TOM. However I've noticed recent weight gain (10 lbs in 2 wks) & increase in my appetite & cravings. My breasts are sore & noticeably bigger. I'm worried this is side effects from Apri. But 10lbs is better than acne!"

"My doctor prescribed Apri to me as birth control and to make my periods more regular and less painful. Well, I'm still not pregnant, and my periods are completely predictable and manageable. Before I started this medication my periods were sometimes debilitating. In addition to being less painful, my periods last for fewer days now that I take Apri. There are so many horror stories about birth control pills, but I'm proof that they do work for some people."

"I started Apri five months ago. I have always suffered with terrible ovarian cysts, and now they're starting to finally decrease. I have lost twenty pounds while I've been taking the pills, without changing my diet or exercise. I'm not pregnant, nor have I ever been. My sex drive is the same, but I can't eat anymore. Small meals twice a day that has absolutely no dairy in them are all my stomach can handle now. I have never had a problem with dairy before Apri. I also get terrible headaches and am constantly tired. There are positive and negatives to this pill."

"I have been using Apri for 6 months now. The first 3 months were ideal it cleared up my acne tremendously and this is the first birth control pill which hasn't effect my mood. However, after 3 months I started noticing the negatives. I have felt super depressed, nearly empty/numb everyday which is opposite to the person I am. I, like another user, blamed my stressful job but I've come to realize it was my birth control. I have no sex drive at all and I actual have cystic acne on my face now which I never had before. I would not recommend this pill due to how horrible it has actually made me feel."

"So I've only been on this pill for a month. Before this, I was on Yasmin for a month, and before that, I was on Junel Fe for 4 months, and before that, Lo Loestrin Fe for 2 months. I know it's still pretty early, but so far it is a great pill. On Yasmin, I was a monster. My temperament is usually very laid-back and carefree, but I was an emotional, depressed mess. After switching to Apri, it almost feels like an antidepressant for me. I'm in such a happy, good mood all the time. So far, I've only gotten sad one day the week before my period week, where I cried a little, but nothing compared to last month on Yasmin. So far no weight gain either, my skin hasn't broken out on this, and my boobs are getting bigger (plus for me, being an A cup)."

"I've been on this birth control for about 5 months now...And it sure is doing its job very well. But I do get huge headaches from time to time and feeling dizzy for about 2 months now. When I started to take this birth control everything was fine. But until now I'm thinking of trying another brand of birth control."

"Been taking Apri for about 2 1/2 months and I've gained about 10lbs, my sex drive is extremely low and I'm really moody for no apparent reason. It's really interfering with my relationship. I also have been having chest pains and I feel a heaviness in my chest when I wake up. When my period came on after the first month I had really bad cramps. The only reason I gave it a 3 is because I have an irregular period and it came on time while taking Apri."

"I’ve been using it for almost 3 years on continuous intake and I’ve been able to cease my period without spotting in betweens packs. I’ve been a pill user for almost ten years to stop my horrible symptoms when I have my period, and this is the only one where I haven’t experienced any side effects."

"I have been on apri for 7 months now for both birth control and acne. The first month I didn’t really notice any side effects. The second month, I had spotting the whole week before my period. I didn’t see any difference in my period in terms of cramping or flow, and no change in acne. The next few months were the same. By the 4th or 5th month, I started to see a decrease in my chest/back acne, and forehead acne, but I was still getting the hormonal acne on my jawline. Now, 7 months later, my period is so much lighter (2-3 days) and very minimal cramping (before it was 4-5 days with heavy cramping the first 3 days). And I was surprised that the week before my period my acne did not get worse like usual. My skin has never looked clearer. So it took 7 months for my body to adjust to the Apri and to see the desired effects I wanted on my skin, but my patience paid off. Also, no pregnancies! I’ll be sticking with Apri."

"I have recently switched to Apri28 from having tried a handful before it. I have been on Yasmin for the past 3 and a half years. Nothing really affected me except that I felt I was getting really moody and would snap for no reason, and I was always a happy person before. So naturally, I wanted a change. I waited a month after coming off of it and my back and forehead started to break out which I NEVER had, even before Yasmin so I started taking Apri right away. Honestly, it took a couple weeks for my body to adjust but I am clear once again, I feel like myself FINALLY! And I haven't had any problems. My left leg was a little tingly at times after a week or two, but that is gone.. even after only 2 months I know it was a good choice for me."

"I’ve been taking Apri pill for about 4 months and I’ve had a pretty positive experience. I’ve experienced no nausea, no weight gain (I actually lost 2 lbs when I started taking it), and no depressive thoughts. I also feel like it hasn’t caused major mood swings. My only complaint is that prior to taking the pill, I had very few skin problems, and now I have quite a few blemishes that pop up here and there. Nothing too unbearable though. Medicine affects everyone’s body differently, so don’t turn down this medicine just because of varying reviews. Talk to your doctor first!"

"I've been on this pill for 3 months. My Dr. told me to wait it out for a few months and I should adjust. The first month wasn't awful, but it seems to be getting worse and worse the more I take it. The only time I feel ok (not nauseous and anxious) is when I'm on my period. I basically feel what I would compare to carsickness 24/7. I have no appetite, I've lost weight, which is nice, but not in a healthy way, I just don't eat due to constant nausea. My sex drive is non existent, which is awful for both my husband and I. I have panic attacks regularly, I cry about nothing and the smell of anything cooking turns my stomach. My acne has cleared up, so that's good I suppose, but that's the ONLY positive about this pill. Overall one of the worst I've ever been on. Discontinuing this month."

"I had previously been on Microgestin which didn't work well for me. I was cranky, tired, moody, and found myself having bleeding between periods. My doctor put me on Apri and it doesn't affect my mood whatsoever. I feel fine, my periods are light and (bonus!) only last 2-3 days. Also, I'm not pregnant, so it definitely works."

"Apri, when I first started taking it, increased my appetite for the first month. I was constantly hungry, and would get hunger pains if I hadn’t eaten for a couple hours. My skin cleared up a lot, though, my cramps nearly disappeared, and my sex drive was much higher. Now that I’ve been taking it for 4 months, almost 5, I've noticed complete clearing of the skin, cramping only right before my period, and a significant increase in my sex drive. This is this second birth control I’ve tried, and I’m not going to change."

"I’ve been on Apri for about ~4 years now. For the first 3 months or so, the mood swings and agitation were almost too much for me to be around some people. I did feel as though I gained some water weight and my boobs went from a B to a D over the course of that time. My acne got a little worse before it got better. Now with being on it for so long, I think it’s great for me. My skin is incredibly clear, I have control over my weight (at least it seems), and I can skip my periods with no issue. I do have some lingering anxiety and get agitated a little easily sometimes but it very well be due to just me as a person in general. Once I go off it later in life I'm interested to see how the anxiety does. Overall, I really really like this and will continue to stay on it for a while. It’s great once your body gets used to it, but everyone’s different."

"Love this birth control. I was nervous before taking it because I read so many reviews about depression and mental health issues associated with it but I have none of those symptoms and I’ve been on it for about a year. Light periods and no weight gain for me. I am also a diabetic so this is a great birth control as it doesn’t affect my blood sugar levels as some other birth control methods have in the past. I would definitely recommend."

"Let me tell you that the first couple months of Apri were BAD. I had trouble sleeping, nausea, very tender breasts among other things, but the worst part was the depression and anxiety. I would cry pretty much every day for absolutely no reason. I lost a lot of motivation to do anything. It was pretty miserable, but I decided to stick it out for a couple months hoping that these symptoms would go away, and they did. I’ve now been on this birth control for about 6 months and I am very happy with it. It regulates my period which is the main reason I went on birth control because my periods were consistently 10 days long and very irregular, sometimes I’d have a 2 week cycle, sometimes 2 months. Now I get a 5 day period, exactly every four weeks, it’s great. I do still get cramps but they are not as bad as they were before I went on apri. I would recommend this birth control if you are prepared for a rough first couple months."

"I love Apri. I tried another birth control, and it made me so depressed, but on Apri I feel just fine. The only problem is that in 18 months on the pill I have gained about 20 pounds, with very little change in my diet and exercise. It is SO HARD to lose weight on Apri."

"I’ve been taking Apri for about 3 weeks now. Just after the first few weeks my boobs have been super sore and have grown to where everyone including my boyfriend notices. I have weird cravings and am getting hunger pains, but feeling full quickly. I am nauseous more than usual. This pill has made me feel pregnant just based off of side effects. I did missed one pill, but doubled up the next day with no issues. I do feel tired, and get small random headaches, but nothing unmanageable. Not too bad after being on depo for over a year. Lol"

"I have been on apri for a year and was recently put on another then forced back do to a recall, I was so sad to be put back on apri. While off for 2 months, my weight had gone down, and sex drive went back to normal, and I head energy again. now back on for not even a month and everything is getting messed up again. It's not the pills fault, but you may notice weight gain, feel sluggish, and a lower sex drive if your body reacts to this the same way I do. :( it's time to figure out something else.... My body and relationship can't go thu this again."

"First time on birth control and was nervous that I'd have the horrible side effects that I've heard about online and through friends. Went on Apri and have never had ANY side effects (nausea, weight gain, etc.). I think that the horror stories you hear are the exception, not the rule. My Dr. said that she's prescribed Apri for first time birth control users for years and has never had any complaints about it. Got it for $15/month at first and am now paying $25 through WalMart. Other than the disappointment in price increase, I think that I will be taking Apri for a long time."

"I was on Apri from 2007-2019 and had no issues until 2018. My periods were about 5 days long and not super heavy, I gained no weight besides in my boobs, and everything was peachy! Starting in 2018 I started bleeding randomly throughout my active weeks and having extremely heavy periods on my placebo weeks (bleeding through a super tampon in an hour) and had a ton of clots. I'm not sure if my bodies hormones started changing with age or what, but it was a great 11 year run before I had a single issue!"

"I was put on this birth control pill in preparation for IVF. I've been on other birth control brands in the past and have never had an experience like this! It's only been one week and I am MISERABLE. Incredibly depressed, emotional, fatigued and unmotivated. I've also noticed a huge appetite increase. In the beginning I was also super nauseous but that is fairly typical in my experience. I know that different pills have different effects on people and it takes a while to adjust but as I said, I've been on multiple brands and none has ever been this bad. All I want to do is sleep, eat, and cry. Good times."

"This is my 1st month taking the pill. I don't know why people are saying that their sex drive is gone. It has not affected me that way at all. The only problem for me is that it makes me have more discharge. After researching, the pill does this to make it harder for sperm to reach the uterus which is fine by me! I have cramps for about 2 days, and my periods are short. No weight gain at all, no bigger boobs either but it beats having babies! I also used to feel sick but I don't know if it's because of the pill."
