For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "It seemed to work for the short term, but I believe there are problems for long term use, and especially when prescribed for non-cardiological purposes. I had been prescribed dabigatran and was taking it for almost 6 months when suddenly I started prolonged bleeding although I am in menopause."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I've been taking Pradaxa for about 2 months. Cardiology lowered the dose to 75 twice a day. I have noticed no side effects at all. I have less bruising when bumping myself also. I hope this continues as bruising effect from warfarin was very unsightly."

Pradaxa (dabigatran) for Deep Vein Thrombosis "I was on Xarelto for about six weeks for DVT in my calf. I had side effects like headaches, cramping in my toes at night while sleeping, tingling and heaviness in my legs. I informed my doctor and she suggested Pradaxa. I've been taking Pradaxa for about a week and all of the Xarelto side effects have gone away. I still get mild headaches but Pradaxa seems to be a better choice for me."

Pradaxa (dabigatran) for Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I have been taking Pradaxa for approximately 6 weeks and have noticed a significant increase in gas, flatulence and loose bowels. Otherwise, it sure beats Coumadin."

Pradaxa (dabigatran) for Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "Using Pradaxa, rather new, only a month. However, taking two pills a day rather than needle-testing is so much easier. The only side effect is a slight weight gain."
