Cyproheptadine "Asked my doc for a prescription 5 weeks ago. I was shocked when I weighed myself. First month, I gained 16 pounds. I had two kids, both one year apart. Started losing weight like crazy. Too busy to eat. Well, it keeps you hungry. However, if you go out and buy protein bars and the weight gain shakes, they help fill you up. Ensure is good too. Also on depot, so not sure which one makes me crave sweets. I'm supposed to be 150, I'm solid about 5'8. Went down to 118 within weeks. Perfect health, just no appetite. The shakes are easy to make and buy some already cooked meals and lots of snacks. I thought my stomach was going to eat itself. I do recommend taking an allergy pill with drowsy effects at bedtime a week before you start. 140 last check."

"I was prescribed this medication for rapid weight loss (-25 lbs in 2 weeks) from severe anxiety and panic disorder. During this time, I was unable to eat hardly anything and lost my appetite completely. My psychiatrist gave me a 4 mg dose of this to take daily. I started off by taking only half a dose, and that did the trick for me. I have gained 5 pounds back in about 10 days. I do have to say the appetite increased mostly toward the evening, not so much in the morning, but it does work. I did not experience any side effects from it."

"I took this medicine 4 months back. I was 37 kg, and I gained 5 kg of weight. I am still underweight but want to suggest don't take this medicine for a long time. My periods are affected, they have become irregular for the last 4 months. It's good for appetite stimulation but can affect your body."

"A few weeks ago I wasn't feeling well. I felt dizzy, faint, my stomach was hurting, nausea, and sweaty. After that day, I just couldn't eat anything. Days went on, and I would eat 4 spoons of applesauce for the whole day. The thought and smell of food made me feel nauseous, so I didn't eat. Because of that, I lost 10 lbs in 1 week. They gave me this medicine to take 3 times a day to get my appetite back. And it works!! It only took 2 days to start working for me. I finally can eat normally again."

"I was put on this a few years ago, and I was so happy to gain weight. I am almost 32 years old, I have 9 children, 5'6" and only weigh 104 lbs. I am going back on it. I want to look like a woman, not a child. My oldest son was mistaken for my boyfriend. I was so embarrassed."

"I have always struggled to gain weight until my doctor prescribed me this. It took only a few days to get over the sleepiness, but it was worth it. After 2 months, I gained about 12 lbs. I only took 1/2-1 pill daily the first month. After I noticed a plateau in weight gain, I started to up my dose to 2 pills a day. So far, I'm continuing to gain and hope to gain more."

"During my pregnancy, I had severe morning sickness the whole time and couldn't keep anything down. Before I got pregnant, I was 125 lbs, after I had my son, I went down to 109. It was almost impossible trying to gain weight because I could go a whole day without really wanting to eat. I heard about these pills online and asked my doctor for them. A friend of mine had also been taking them and gained 40 lbs, so I gave it a shot. In about 4 months, I've gained 30 lbs. I could've gained a lot more by now, but I take them on and off. You have to really want to gain and really eat because the pills alone won't make you gain, but they do give you an appetite boost. I try to eat at least 3,000 calories per day, which I couldn't do without the pills, and it has worked!"

"I have never been diagnosed with anorexia, but I have always been skinny. I have always had a high metabolism. My doctor prescribed me this medicine, cyproheptadine, and it has increased my appetite so much. I'm constantly eating, and I finish every meal! I'm craving food all the time, and I have gained 6 pounds! I was 88 pounds before I started taking my medicine, and my doctor is so happy to know I have gained weight. I totally recommend this medicine 100%."

"I've been thin my whole life. Never weighing more than 100 lbs. I have two children, and at almost 30, I was 5'9", 110 lbs when I found this medicine. It started working within days. And I love it. I'm not much for taking pills every day, but it's worth it. It's the only thing that's worked for me, and everyone has noticed the difference. Haven't stepped on a scale yet."

"So I was using this cyproheptadine for anorexia, and it caused severe heart problems with me, my heart would skip beats, and my mind would play with me and cause me to have panic attacks. To this day, it still causes skipped beats. I'm in my late teens and was prescribed this when I was 8 years old. Would not suggest giving this to someone that young at all."

"For me, being skinny never felt right. I was skin and bones all the time, and that really affected my self-confidence. In 2011, my mother introduced me to this medicine, and I love her extra for it. I moved from being just 110 at 5 ft 11 ins to 155 in a few months. A month ago, when I checked my weight, I was 170 lbs. Damn, how I was happy about it. But now I am going through a stressful time in my life (he got someone pregnant). I have already lost 7 lbs. I am back on this medicine again, and hopefully, I gain the lbs I lost recently. It does make you really sleepy at first, but then I feel like my body got used to it."

Cyproheptadine "I've been treated for anxiety with amitriptyline and Xanax. During my 3-month review with my doctor, I told him how I went from a 1 to a 5 since taking these medications. I've been trying to gain weight since having my daughter 10 years ago. I was always 5/6, 7/8... After having her, barely a 1. So I'm pleased that I'm gaining weight. So he gives me my anxiety medications with Periactin. Hopefully, all goes well and I can reach my goal."

"My son has been taking this medication to help gain weight. It has helped his appetite and seemed to help with his morning sneezing, also. We give him a teaspoon in the evening, and he is hungry before bed and eats more in the morning now."

"This is not my experience, but from my learning on pharmacology. If someone takes Periactin for a long time, it causes psychosis and damage to the liver. So, before taking Periactin for a long time, consult your doctor."

"Please only use this through prescription. The ingredients found in GML-Apeti and Apetamin are not the same as the prescription. I tried all three and honestly, the prescription works way better with fewer side effects. GML has other things added, the prescription is just strictly cyproheptadine. Be careful out here."

"I'm not anorexic, but I'm a really small woman right now and cannot gain weight at all. I have a nutritionist, and still no difference, so I went to my Dr. on 10/8/19, and so far my appetite has picked up over 50%. I'm eating more off my plates and snacking a lot more than usual. I see where people are starting off taking whole pills right away, but my Dr. told me a half a pill (4 mg) 4 times a day for 21 days, then 2 whole pills 4 times a day. I was at 100 lb, but I haven't weighed myself but will at my next appointment. I see my nutritionist on 10/26/19, and I'll get weighed in. I'll check back in then, but if no change, then I'll check in in 2 months when I see my PCP for a check-up, and the best thing about it is my Medicaid pays for it. I'm also hypothyroid, so you'd think I'd gain weight alone. I have severe allergies living in Oklahoma, lol, and take allergy medicine with inhalers as well every day, and if this also helps with allergies, then I can kill 2 birds with one stone and stop the inhalers and montelukast."

"Took Periactin once a day, as it made me very drowsy and heavy-headed. Although my appetite picked up a lot and over a year I put on about 10 kgs, which I wanted, it was the worst decision to take these tablets as it caused severe dryness in my eyes. This has led to terrible eye pain day and night. Sadly, I didn't make the link between the tablets and the pain until too late, but I have now stopped taking them. They probably work for some without side effects, but not for me, unfortunately."

"I've always struggled with my weight. I'm 30 years old with 2 boys, and my weight rocketed with both pregnancies and went right back down again. lol I've tried quite a few things, but nothing really helped. I do remember going to a Chinese herbal store 3 years ago and was given a powder mixture to mix with water and drink twice a day. It works, but I'm not good with drinking large quantities. Fast forward to today. I'm currently 5'6, weighing 153 lbs. I hate seeing what I see in the mirror: skinny arms, collarbone poking out, my breasts are literally nonexistent. It's sad! So, I went to my GP on 3/1/2019 and asked for Periactin. She was happy to prescribe it to me. It's been two days I've been taking these now, I take 3 a day, and they make me so hungry. I've also noticed I haven't been getting the sleepiness or headaches some say they have experienced within the first 3 days of taking them. I will be back to update after a week or 2 to see if I've gained any weight since."

"I've always been skinny but not to a point where people would point it out or say I need to gain weight. I tried taking this because sometimes I'll lose my appetite and I can go days without feeling hungry. I took half a 4 mg at night before bed and I couldn't get out! I slept from 10 pm all the way to 1:30 in the afternoon and I was still tired! It makes your bones feel like jelly. It does help you gain weight, but when I took it, all the weight just went to my stomach. So now I'm just forcing myself to eat more and I hit the gym 5 times a week for weight lifting, and I look better than when I used this pill to gain weight. If you want to put on healthy weight, aka muscle, this isn't the pill to try-16 lbs of muscle = 1 year to put on."

"This is the 2nd time I'm sharing this experience! I think first it didn't work on me! Still, I continued using it! I was a lazy person earlier, but now I've started working in the office, and I walk about 3 km every day! It's been 1 week since I started working and walking. My appetite is the same, but, but, but I gained 3 kg in a week, and I'm gaining! I weigh every day, and the weight is always increasing! I am 51 kg now, hope I'll reach 60 soon. I'm 5 feet 8 inches tall!"

"I tried this on a whim, after reading a lot of reviews. I was a little nervous, as my doctors have never heard of it. Still, I took the chance because I was desperate, and I've gained 15 pounds in 3 weeks! I'm still in shock. My stomach somehow turned into a bottomless pit. I will say though, I kept falling asleep for the first 3 days. Like, deeeeeep sleep. And I had the worst headaches of my life. BUT, it subsided after about 3 days. I still get a little drowsy and disoriented at times, but I don't take it as often now. I started with 3 doses of 4 mg/day, and now I take it once before bed."

"I've been using it for 4 months and I've gained so much. It's nice to have this nice body. Everyone I meet keeps praising how great I look... It boosts your appetite and makes you feel hungry and sleepy in the first week, but after that, it's a smooth ride. At times when I'm broke, I take half a pill and it still does the magic. Thank you, cyproheptadine, for changing my physique ☺️"

"This is the only thing that has worked for my poor appetite! I've always struggled with having little to no appetite and feeling like I was 'too thin.' I've been taking these pills for months now, and I can honestly say that I went from 99 lbs to 130 lbs. I look extremely healthy and happier. It has some cons too. Your body will start to get used to it, and you will most likely lose weight and your appetite if you discontinue it. It also makes you extremely tired, so take it before bed or on your days off."

"I suffer from depression and anxiety. Being stressed 24 hours a day. I had no appetite whatsoever. My new doctor prescribed cyproheptadine to increase my appetite. I've taken it for only one week so far. A bit sleepy at first, but now that I've gotten past the sleepiness, I actually eat all day long. I can see the weight coming on, and I love it. Can't wait to look in the mirror and see thickness instead of skin and bones. I will be taking this until my doctor says otherwise. I'm 108 lbs right now. Anxious to get up to my ideal weight of 130 lbs. Thanks, cyproheptadine. You are a lifesaver."
