For Atopic Dermatitis "I have been using Triamcinolone ointment on my face for over 20 years. This was the only thing that worked. Well, my doctor gave me a few small tubes of Eucrisa to try. The ointment in the small tubes did not burn when applied, and behold, it is working like a charm without the steroids! So I got the prescription. Yes, it burns really badly, so my doctor suggested that I apply a thin coat of Vaseline to my face first, then apply the Eucrisa. This process works. I am thankful that Eucrisa gave a coupon to cut the cost."

For Atopic Dermatitis "This definitely seems to help my eczema. Think I've been able to come up with a way to stop the burning sensation when applying it. I mix 1 part of Eucrisa with about 3 parts of Aquaphor ointment on the palm of my hand, then stir it all in and then apply the mixture to my affected areas (face, arms). There is hardly any stinging, but the medication still seems to work at a lower level for several hours as the cream is absorbed into the skin. Another way to reduce the burning is to apply very small amounts of Eucrisa on the affected areas. Good luck!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have been using Eucrisa for a year now; I use it primarily in the winter months, and when needed through the spring and summer. It has worked better for me than any other cream, ointment, or oil for my eczema, which I suffer from around the eyes. It is safe to use, unlike steroidal medicine. HOWEVER, putting this ointment on has to be the worst feeling of pain I’ve ever experienced... 60 seconds of a fiery, burning sensation takes over, and I can’t do anything but cry and suffer through it to get the results. Granted, my eczema is in a very sensitive spot, yet is very intense. If you have little to mild eczema (especially in a non-sensitive area), I HIGHLY recommend Eucrisa. But for me, it’s not worth the pain."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Happy, happy, happy! I’ve suffered with eczema for a few years now, and of all places, on my face. I had to walk around with red blotches, it got so bad it hurt to even wash my face. I was so embarrassed going out in public, it was so bad! My doctor gave me a sample of Eucrisa. I used it that night, yes, there was some burning, but it didn’t last long. I woke up the next morning, my face was completely clear. I couldn’t believe it! Yes, the medicine is expensive, but well worth it. I can now walk around with my head held high, my skin looks fabulous!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I just started this today for scaly, itchy eyelids. It burns for a bit, but not enough to stop it. I hope it works. I am using Zaditor eye drops for itchy eyes also! I hope my insurance pays for most of it since what I'm reading on here, it's pretty expensive!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had moderate eczema on the insides of my elbows, neck, and eyelids for as long as I can remember, and during the warmer and drier seasons, it tends to flare up pretty badly. After applying Eucrisa to my neck, inside of my elbows, and eyelids, I felt the most excruciating burning pain on my neck and eyelids. Hands down, the worst burning sensation I have ever experienced in my life. As much as I want to give this ointment a try, I can't stand the pain it produces."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I had severe eczema flare-ups on my lips and was concerned about continued steroid use on my face. I was given a sample of Eucrisa to try. The first time I used it, it burned so bad that I immediately washed it off and thought something wasn’t right, like maybe I was allergic or something. I tried again the next day and fought through the five minutes of intense burning. It cleared me up, but the burning is a major bummer or a side effect, especially when it’s on such a sensitive area like your face. I found that if there is any open skin at all, that’s when it hurts the most. I find the pain to be worth it, though, as it generally works and is steroid-free."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I was prescribed Eucrisa after I’ve struggled with large, itchy welts all over my arms, legs, and stomach, many of which are likely the result of a bug bite or allergen. I received an allergy scratch test as well as a patch test, where I discovered I was allergic to the Triamcinolone cream as well as all the hydrocortisone creams I’d been using to fix my itchy skin and hives. I’ve used a full 60 mg Eucrisa tube, and I have not seen it make much of a difference. When I apply the medication, it burns slightly and then becomes more itchy or tingly, like when your legs fall asleep. I have had better luck treating with alcohol to clean any irritants from my skin and applying Neosporin with pain relief to help relieve some irritation."

For Atopic Dermatitis "My dermatologist recommended Eucrisa for my eczema on my face. I tried for four nights to use this, and I’m done. The burning and tingling sensation is unbearable! Thank goodness I tried the sample first before spending $40. I can’t imagine using this on my children!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I’ve had eczema my entire life. I’ve never once had completely clear skin in almost 50 years. I started using Eucrisa yesterday, and the rashes are already clearing, the itch is almost completely gone, and for the first time, I am hopeful to finally have clear skin. Unlike many users, I experience no burning or pain when applied. It’s expensive, but so worth it to me."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had eczema since I was a baby. My doctor prescribed me Eucrisa for my face (above my lip and all around my lips, along with my cheeks & the creases of my arms and legs are the worst). He didn’t want me using hydrocortisone on my face, so this is what I got. It burns pretty bad but goes away within 5-10 minutes. I try fanning my face, but it doesn’t seem to work, lol. But my inflamed skin has gone down so much! It’s not as red, nor as scaly as it used to be. I am going to keep giving this medicine a try! I hope this is helpful and that it works for all of you as well! Remember to keep fighting that burning sensation so your skin can look good!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "First thought this stuff is so greasy. My eczema problem at the time was majorly my hands. It makes it hard to do anything because my hands were so greasy. Yes, it burns, but I thought if it helps, I’ll deal with it. At first, my hands improved, the cut-type places healed, BUT now it's all WORSE. My hands are worse than they were to begin with, but I now have it in places I’ve never had it before, and some places have grown largely. I’m so disappointed and upset. I’m mentally exhausted with this eczema stuff, and now it’s worse."

For Atopic Dermatitis "In the winter, my eczema is the worst, and in the summer, it's almost gone. I had gone to my doctor in the past for eczema around my eyes, was prescribed steroid cream. When the winter months came around, I would dab a little bit of that cream on other parts of my face to help. This past summer, I noticed my skin 'behaving' how it usually does in the winter: dry, itchy, peeling. Unusual for me during the summer months. Over a few weeks, it slowly got worse. Eventually, I went to the dermatologist, who told me I just had dry skin. I refused to believe that and told him how it IS eczema and not just dry skin. He finally prescribed me Eucrisa without warning me that this ointment burns for a good 10 minutes. I've only been using it for a few days, but I don't see it helping at all. Maybe the first day it did, but since then, I've just felt itchier, and I have red coin-sized blotches on my face now. I wouldn't recommend this ointment. The burning sensation isn't worth the day that it does work."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I tried this for a small patch of eczema on my face. It felt okay at first, so I later put it all over my face. The next morning, I woke up with my face burning and hives all over. It was awful! It then led to months on end of contact dermatitis, and nearly a year later, I still am dealing with some mild skin issues."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Just a bit of advice, try to let your eczema heal up a bit (somehow, I know it's hard that's why we're buying creams) so that there are not as many or as “deep” open sores/cracks. You can still moisten it up with Vaseline and use things like Polysporin eczema. Wrap your ankle in clear Saran wrap when you sleep to avoid scratching during sleep, and it stays moist. Almost every cream will have a slight burning sensation if you have cracks or open sores. My left ankle gets so bad that it's raw, that's when it burns no matter what I do, even my sheets touching it burns, so try to heal it up a bit, at least most deep open sores, before applying this stuff to avoid the burn. My right ankle has fully healed now thanks to these steps."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I use this for eczema flare-ups on my neck/forearms, and it clears it up in a few days. However, the burning is really painful. It is more painful than getting a tattoo, in my opinion. It works, but it definitely is a bad burning sensation."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Works great! Virtually stopped the itching and brought down the redness in my face that I've been battling with no relief for the past few months overnight. Unfortunately, it burns! Good gosh does it burn my face! Brings tears to my eyes, burns. Worse than any steroid cream I've ever used. But it does not burn using it on my hands, back, legs, chest. Hope it takes the place of Protopic/Mometasone. So far, so good."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have been suffering for 5 years with dime to quarter-size red spots that scale over every night. My dermatologist has tried dozens of treatments to no avail until Eucrisa. My husband saw this advertised on TV and suggested I ask my doctor. He had samples and instructed me on how to use them. The first morning after using it, I saw a change. Now, after 2 weeks, I haven't got one single scale. The spots are slightly red still. This could be scarring, or they may lighten. It has only been 2 weeks. These spots have been part of my appearance for 5 years, so there could very likely be scarring. But even how it is now is completely amazing. Only the slightest burning during the first week. The downside is it is greasy, so I use it sparingly on each spot."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I began using Eucrisa for atopic dermatitis on one eyebrow, both eyelids, and one ear a month ago. I have used Protopic and Elidel, neither helped. When it’s highly inflamed, it does burn, but it’s tolerable for me. It is only a temporary fix though, the red inflamed skin, insane itching, skin tender and thickened, it never goes away."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have the worst eczema on my face, my neck, and my arms. When I apply it to my arms, the next morning it will look drastically better. It does the same for my face and neck, but it’s extremely painful. It burns so bad. I either have to put an ice bag on the area or take a cold shower to take it off. Wish it didn’t burn as bad."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I started using this 3 days ago for what I have been told is eczema on my face. The first time I used it, my face got itchy beyond belief. I was actually looking forward to a sensation other than being itchy all the time. The sensation of burning and stinging sounded good for a change. I guess it's too soon to really rate it, but so far, my skin is smooth, but it still itches."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I was prescribed Eucrisa recently as the typical steroid creams (like Desonide) were not working. The skin above my lips and eyes was constantly red and irritated, and nothing seemed to work anymore. I moisturize multiple times a day, and it was still irritated. I was skeptical about using Eucrisa and almost didn't fill the RX because I thought it would be a waste of money. I ended up getting it just so I could say I tried it (and got a coupon for it). To my surprise, it has worked after a week. The downside is that it does burn when I first apply it (as the Dr. has warned), but the redness and itchiness have gone away. I only apply very little each time (and mix it with some Aquaphor), so that does help with the burning. It's only been a week, so we'll see... but so far, it's working for me! I'm happy the redness is gone!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "While the medication does burn, it made my face brand new again! No more itchy red patches, and it stopped burning after the first 2-3 treatments. If I stop using it and then start reapplying because of a flare-up, it does burn again, so I just apply a thin layer to my problem spots daily to keep things under control. Love this!"

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have been using Eucrisa for 19 months. I have very severe widespread eczema, usually over 1/3 to 2/3 of my body. So I have to use steroids, usually a few days per week. The Eucrisa helps me cut down on the amount of days that I use steroids, but it's not a very effective medicine. Eucrisa won't clear eczema, but since I can't overuse topical steroids, the Eucrisa is better than nothing to use. I blend it in with my Vanicream moisturizer. Immediately after applying the Vanicream, I apply the Eucrisa. This makes Eucrisa absorb better. I don't get the burning from Eucrisa like other people do -- just a very mild 10-second burn on my face, that's all. The tube is way too small. There isn't nearly enough in a tube to last a month. It's more like a 10-15 day supply. My insurance won't cover it anymore, and after I go on Medicare, I won't cover it either and I won't be able to get it through any sort of subsidy program like I have been recently."
