Conjugated estrogens / medroxyprogesterone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "Doctor had me on Premarin for a year, worked great. Doctor then switched me to Prempro. Only took for a month and a half, was having leg cramps and a period after no period for 5 years. I’ll try a supplement instead."

Conjugated estrogens / medroxyprogesterone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "Have been on Prempro for almost a year. Did help with the hot flashes. I do experience a lot of headaches. I have also had a lot of hair loss since taking this. Just got a letter from my pharmacy saying they will no longer pay for Prempro and giving me covered alternatives, such as Estradiol-norethindrone acetate, Fyavolv, Jinteli, Mimvey, and norethindrone-ethin estradiol. Does anyone take any of these HRT alternatives? If so, what is your experience? Also, has anyone had hair loss from Prempro or any other HRTs?"

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I started taking this drug in 1995. I’m now age 70. Over the years, I have reduced the dosage dramatically. My doctor prescribed the 0.625 dosage, and I use a pill cutter to cut it into fourths, which is equivalent to a 0.15625 dosage. This also reduces the cost significantly. I’m sure the drug company would say this is an absolute no-no, but it has worked for me for over 15 years now. My problem is that now no doctors will prescribe this medication for me. They say I shouldn’t still be taking Prempro at my age. I have absolutely no side effects from this medication, and they continually want to put me on Gabapentin to control hot flashes, which has many adverse side effects. I fail to see the logic in this thinking. So now I am dealing with sleepless nights and severe hot flashes."

Conjugated estrogens / medroxyprogesterone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "Works great, transitioned to it from progesterone and estradiol and didn't notice any changes. The progesterone made me feel drunk, and I slept a little better. I still sleep a lot better than before HRT. I was waking up drenched with sweat and heat and then so cold after the flash."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I started taking Prempro in 2014. This pill literally saved me. I started having hot flashes and night sweats at 32. I used to have at least 2 hot flashes an hour. Hardly ever got 4 hours of sleep at night from flashing and sweating. Didn’t want to go anywhere because I was embarrassed when people commented on my face looking all sweaty. I have tried so many different remedies that did little to stop the flashes. So, when I was prescribed this pill, within two weeks I had my first full night of sleep. Hot flashes had eased up until they were gone. I went to my doctor and gave him a big hug, and I cried. (Never thought the flashes could be stopped). I lost my pills on vacation and had to go 3 weeks before I could get them refilled. Within the second week, I started having flashes. I really can’t survive without this pill, but after 6 years, I am starting to notice some of the side effects getting worse now. Would like to know if there are ways to counteract any of the side effects."

Conjugated estrogens / medroxyprogesterone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "Yes, I have started taking Prempro about a week ago. This medication does not take long to see the symptoms of your hot flashes decrease, and sleeping habits are better. If you are not seeing any symptom change, you may need to up the mgs from 1.0 mg to 2.5 mg."

Conjugated estrogens / medroxyprogesterone for Postmenopausal Symptoms "I feel extremely fortunate to have had a female MD at the time I hit menopause. I was 50, and my husband died around the same time menopause hit. My MD prescribed Prempro 0.3/1.5, and I believe this has kept my body healthy for the past 19 years, and yes, I am still taking Prempro today. I still maintain a healthy sex life (with my long-term partner), my bone density is good, and my overall health is very good. My gynecologist refused to prescribe this many years ago, but my PCP continues to prescribe this for me. All my friends are just now learning about the health benefits of HRT, for many, it is too late, and some prefer to use bioidentical or natural hormones. Prempro helped me through my grief, it helped with hot flashes and night sweats, and helped prevent weight gain. It is very expensive, hopefully a generic someday soon! I will reach out to Pfizer to see about some sort of discount."
