For Depression "I am going on 3 weeks of using the generic citalopram, and the side effects are awful. I have major migraines that make me dizzy. I wake in the middle of the night covered in sweat, hot and cold chills, excessive tiredness even if I get sleep. I felt better for a short time, but now I seem to have to talk myself into doing anything that requires me to leave my house, and I get shaky."

"I was prescribed to combat hot flushes (had breast cancer, mastectomy, chemo). Result was no hot flushes - brilliant, however, discontinued after one day due to side effects - dizziness, muzzy head, overwhelming nausea. I felt awful and will suffer the hot flushes rather than take one more of these."

Citalopram for Anxiety and Stress "I took Celexa one night. Dr. prescribed me 15 mg. I cut that in half and then cut it in half again, so I only took 2.5 mg that night. When I woke the next day, I could barely walk, I was that dizzy. Nauseated beyond belief, and my heart was pounding out of my chest with anxiety. I just had to stay in bed all day. I honestly thought I was going to need to go to the hospital! I know with SSRIs, you’ll need to get through 2-4 weeks before you feel better, but my experience on such a small dose, I can’t imagine going that long feeling like that! I have a hard time on SSRIs and basically had similar reactions. I guess they’re not for me. Going to try a more natural way out of this."

Citalopram for Anxiety and Stress "Day 2 of Celexa for anxiety. Ended up with headache, panic, dizziness, racing heart, and thoughts. My typical anxiety wasn't even as bad as that. Day 1 seemed okay, but after day 2, I'm not happy with it. No more for me, thanks!"
