"I prefer to take Tagamet rather than all the new PPIs. Tagamet does not have the rebound effect that the PPIs have and is easy to start and stop. I have recently read that anticholinergic medications such as Tagamet can lead to or play a part in the development of Alzheimer’s. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t!"

"I have had peptic ulcers for 30 years, even though I have a very healthy diet. It is part of a hereditary disease. I started taking 400 mg Tagamet 3 times daily with hydroxyzine for interstitial cystitis cramping. The side effect of controlling my peptic ulcer has been amazing. I still watch my diet but am able to eat in public without feeling ill."

"Have used Tagamet 300 mg since it was first released. Dosage has varied from 4 tablets when I first started using to 2 tablets daily currently. It has helped manage my digestion and pulled me back from the brink many times. ( YES ) I’ve tried other medications including PPI and other H2 acid blockers. Tagamet at this time still works best for me."
