"My daughter diagnosed with some infection and Dr. prescribed her Omnicef. After the first dose, she had her upper lip swollen badly. We called the Dr. and she changed the medicine to azithromycin. But it's been 2 days, and my daughter is still developing full-body rashes every 6 hours. And it's definitely Omnicef side effects. Never gonna use it again."

"My daughter had a non-IGE-mediated allergic reaction to this medication in Sept 2016 and in May 2017. It caused her to have a high fever and chills, temps of 104.6 for 5 days in a row and stomach pain behind her belly button. She threw up one morning from the fever."

"I was prescribed cefdinir for a bout of strep throat I had going on in 2017. I explained I was allergic to penicillin and that I am usually prescribed a Z-Pack (I had strep throat numerous times growing up). The doctor mentioned that the Z-Pack wouldn’t be strong enough and that this would work. Whelp...it worked alright. After taking it twice daily for 8 days out of 10, I’ve been dealing with more GI issues than I had in the past that no doctor can seem to resolve. I’m in pain almost every day and diagnosed with proctitis, which I can only assume was caused by or at least initiated by this drug. Always question your doctor, they are human and make mistakes. Please steer clear of this drug for your health. I wish I would have."

"This stuff is a godsend for me. Got strep earlier this year, first treated with amoxicillin (which didn’t help at all), then with cefdinir. Got strep again a few weeks ago, treated with amoxicillin (didn’t do anything again), then asked for cefdinir. Within a day, the white on my tonsils slowly starts to go away and no more sore throat. I get NO side effects with this medicine. I try to take it with food. I was scared at first reading the reviews, but this stuff is heaven-sent. I will never take amoxicillin again."

"I've been on this medicine for a few days now, but it has not helped me recover from my strep throat. I can honestly say that I'm just as miserable now as I was before even going to Urgent Care. I remember having much better luck with Amoxicillin the last time I had strep."

"Doctor prescribed cefdinir for stubborn strep that didn't respond to two other antibiotics. This one cleared it up! Thankful for that. However, I developed horrible ear pain. Unsure if it was a side effect of this medication or something else entirely. The ear pain cleared up after a couple of weeks off meds."

Cefdinir "Bad antibiotic ... never worked, neither for me nor for my kids ... try anything else... 2 days ago, I went to the hospital with an acute throat infection. They passed an antibiotic into my bloodstream using a cannula. I went home feeling much better, but since they put me on Omnicef after wasting too much time taking 2 tablets, it came back. Now I am feeling very painful in my throat again."

"I was prescribed this yesterday after being diagnosed with strep. I received two injections while I was in the doctor's office, which I am so glad I did. I took my first capsule last night, and right after this, I experienced chest pain. I waited, and the pain finally quit. I really didn't think much about it. This morning, I took my second capsule, and I had worse chest pain than the night before. As I said before, I'm glad I got the two in-office shots because I can't take this medicine."

"Was prescribed this cefdinir for strep throat. The side effects are terrible. Worse than strep itself. Extreme fatigue, weakness, fogginess, and stomach issues. Will not take this again."

"I think it works well. I have Crohn’s disease and am allergic to penicillin. I am kind of surprised that people have given this medication bad reviews. It’s not a bad antibiotic by far."
