For Eosinophilic Esophagitis "I was on this steroid for about 2 months. Saw no improvement in the tight feeling in my throat. In fact, after I would swallow it, I’d notice it made my throat feel raw. I think it made the EOE worse as it hindered the actual healing of the irritation and inflammation. Had to take it upon myself to wean off of it. My doctor was of no help."

For Crohn's Disease "I have been on this medication for about 4 weeks now. I take 3 capsules of 3mg a day. I started feeling a little better after about a week and a half. I have not had any side effects, which is great! It has only helped very little though. I have a little less inflammation and no colon spasms, but I am still in pain. I will take it for one more month and see how it goes."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I have UC from the last 6 years. Initially, the doctor kept me on mesalamine, and it worked for me for 2 years and then stopped working, and my problem came back and had a lot of pain and bloody stools. Then the doctor prescribed me this medicine, and it really helped, and my symptoms improved a lot in just a week's time. This medicine is good, and I didn't have any side effects. The doctor took me off this medicine after a month and then put me on to immunosuppressants - 6MP."

Entocort EC (budesonide) for Crohn's Disease "I've had Crohn's disease for 47 years. Entocort works great for calming acute symptoms in just a few days. I'm able to live a normal, pain-free life with it. I just wish it wasn't so expensive."

Entocort EC (budesonide) for Crohn's Disease "Entocort is used as a bridge therapy to settle severe flares. It brings almost complete relief within 2-3 days, but it's just temporary as you can't stay on this drug for long periods of time."

Entocort EC (budesonide) for Crohn's Disease, Maintenance "Been on it for 7 years. Works well for me, but I should find a better long term solution. Almost no flare ups. Minimal side effects since it's only a locally absorbed steroid."

Pulmicort Turbuhaler (budesonide) for Asthma, Maintenance "Works well for asthma treatment, but it's not really easy to wash your mouth after each time of use. Also causes ease of bruising and lowering the defense of the immune system."

For Ulcerative Colitis, Active "I am able to consume food and liquids without vomiting or experiencing blood in the toilet. This is the first time in nearly ten years that I have been able to maintain a weight of 85 lbs or above. However, there are several side effects that come with this accomplishment. These side effects include a persistent runny nose for the past three months, mood swings and suicidal thoughts that make it difficult to sleep and enjoy life, constipation that lasts for 4-7 days, and unbearable bloating, cramping, and gas pains. Despite taking 290 mcg of Linzess, my irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) remains the only condition left to plague me. Other unpleasant side effects include adult acne, migraines, Bartholin cysts, skipped periods (despite having gained weight), unexplained bruises and cuts that refuse to heal despite not being anemic, thin skin on my face resulting in bleeding lines around my mouth and eyebrows if I try to groom them. During a recent out-of-town trip where I was without my medication for three days, I suffered a full-body edema attack that lasted for ten days. The process of tapering off my medication is also incredibly difficult and not to be taken lightly. I am counting down the days until I no longer have to endure these side effects, as they are taking a severe toll on my mental and physical health. I will never subject myself to this medication again."
