For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm on day 3 of treatment, I get side effects of headaches, body aches. I get very tired and sleepy after taking this medicine. I also have a weird taste in my mouth, even water tastes weird to me. I feel heavier even though I have been eating less and healthier, and I feel general inflammation in my body, especially in my legs and feet. No nausea so far, thank goodness! I hope this treatment works."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on my 7th day at Pylera, and so far, everything is good. Yes, I feel a little bit tired, had a few headaches, especially in the mid-frontal head, and I had a metallic taste every morning; however, I've been eating better. I had some diarrhea the first days, and now my stools are better. It is annoying to take 12 pills a day and be on top of schedules. I also take probiotic yogurt, even though my gastroenterologist did not tell me about it. I hope this works."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm on day five, and it is terrible. I have woken the last two nights with chest pain, side hurt, back pain, and numbness in both arms. Went away in about an hour. Have the worst yeast infection of my life. I'm so tired most of the time. When I start to do anything, I give out. Will be so glad when I finish. Will let you know how I do."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Dear Community, Just wanted to share our experience. My wife and I both were infected with H. pylori. We decided to do the treatment together, so there was support to encourage each other. It’s a battle for 10 days, our doctor had warned us of the fact that the treatment is worse than the infection. One requires a lot of mental strength during these 10 days. So, meditation helps. Symptoms of the drug: - We both had a metallic taste in our mouths - I felt dizzy on day 2 after a 5K run. (We both stopped exercising.) - On day 6, my wife had a very bad stomach pain, and this got me worried, she was knocked out the whole day. She took 2 Buscopans to relax her stomach. - Overall tiredness for all the days. Important: Our doctor did not advise us to NOT take yogurt, and we both did, mainly due to this lapse, my wife had the stomach pain. Prep yourself 1 month before by eating clean and taking probiotics. We will test in the next 14 days. Fingers crossed. All the best!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "It's only the end of day 2, and I am drained! During the day, I don't have any significant side effects except for being really tired and a minor headache. At night, I get a strong sense of nausea and loss of appetite. It's only day 2, good thing I have a doctor appointment in 2 days because an antiemetic is very much needed. Let's hope the next 8 days don't get any worse than what they are."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am 19 years old, and I've had this H. pylori for almost 2 years. My doctor put me on the treatment, and I started yesterday morning after breakfast. Every time I take it, I get nauseous and feel pain in my stomach. Well, today I feel like I have absolutely no energy, and I'm sitting at work, falling asleep and still nauseous. Is this normal, or should I call my doctor? I've never called off nor been late to my job, but I do not feel up to working today, and I don't know why I'm feeling like this. Help, please."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "40 years young female. I consider myself an average, slightly overweight but generally healthy woman who exercises 3 days a week. Before starting with Pylera and Creon, I read all these reviews about H. pylori bacteria. On meds now, 8th day. Side effects terrible day 1-2, vomiting, uncomfortable, uneasy. Felt everything was dirty, cleaned entire house and laundry. Day 2-4: loss of appetite, extreme bloat, sleepless nights. Terribly tired, everything smells. Mood swings, heart palpitations, stools, dark urine, upset/pain stomach/intestine, bloated, headache, dizziness, weakness. I always had healthy meals: jello and yogurt. I still feel somehow weak, but nothing compared to 1-5. Still can't sleep, and the copper taste is worse, but I have intestinal pain."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 9 of my 14 days of treatment. After reading all the reviews here, I was really scared of taking it. But, so far, I have not had really bad side effects. However, I've been really, really tired (like all day in bed tired) and find it hard to eat most of the time. I really recommend drinking loads of water and listening to your food cravings (while still avoiding dairy products). I'm almost done, and to be honest, it was not so bad so far, except for the fact that I had to take some time off from studying. Oh, and also the fact that you have to take it 4 times a day - it really is hard to keep up. I will check back in when I know if the drug worked and let you know how my last 5 days were. GOOD LUCK and don't forget to drink water and smoothies if it's hard to eat."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is Day 4 for me, and I feel like I'm pregnant, having morning sickness. Everything I eat, it comes right back out, slight headaches, very tired, and I smell everything, and it makes me nauseous! Please let these last six days come quick!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I tested positive for H. pylori on a blood test with results past the scale in 2013. I took the amoxicillin and clarithromycin with bismuth and Protonix for 14 days. I never had a test afterward due to no insurance, so I don't know if it was eradicated. Fast forward to May 2019, EDG showed negative for H. pylori, so they took my gallbladder out. I still had symptoms off and on since 2013. Fast forward to now, May 2022. I had another EDG due to recurring symptoms. EDG pathology showed negative, but the CLO test showed positive. I started the Pylera 5 days ago, and it has been nothing but a nightmare! Day 1, I immediately felt exhausted and nauseated. I wasn’t able to eat much prior due to extreme bloating and nausea. Each day since has just continuously gotten worse. Whole body aches, exhausted, brown urine, black poop (what little I am pooping due to not being able to eat), headaches, weak as if I have the flu. I’m taking the 3 capsules of Pylera every 4 hours with two 40 mg Protonix daily. I’d rather die than take this again."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Started taking this and made me feel sick to my stomach, as well as feel not with it, very tired, and had headaches. The worst part is the last pill before bedtime. I had to set an alarm and eat crackers, then take the pill. Then, in the morning, I didn't want to get up and felt very worn. I still have 4 more days and hope I make it. Will have to recheck with my results on how I did. Oh, and also the cost of these, even with insurance, was $250.00. All I can say is they better work."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm currently on day 4 of a 20-day regimen. Drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of rest has helped counter the side effects of this medicine. By day 2, I was exhausted. I slept the majority of the day and night and did not understand that it was because of the medicine until I began reading reviews. Day 3, I experienced headaches throughout the day. I have also experienced extreme moodiness, dark stools, and an aftertaste in my mouth since beginning the medicine. This is my 2nd treatment, and I'm optimistic because I would not want to go through this again. I'm not sure how my next couple of weeks at work will be. I have stopped taking my multivitamins so that the antibiotic won't have any interference, so my energy levels are low."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm on day 5 of Pylera. I had dark, loose stools for the first 2 days and a nasty headache the 3rd. All that is gone now. I'm just extremely tired! Been napping 2 hours a day, and I couldn't stay awake to take my last dose, so I had to wake up and take it. I've been taking a strong probiotic with it and drinking 4-5 cups of tea a day (green, black, peppermint, ginger). Staying away from gluten too. Good luck, everyone! I've had this infection since 2008. Was on other meds then, but I guess I've had it and it never went away. I was deathly sick for a month, dropped under 100 lbs, and had 6 emergency visits all because of this nasty infection. Praying this finally makes it go away!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "My doctor prescribed 4 capsules four times daily for two weeks and on a bland diet. The first couple of days were the worst for my stomach cramps. My side effects were lightheadedness, some parts of my body were achy, some random bruising, tiredness, nausea, leg cramping, light sensitivity, and sun sensitivity."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I took Pylera as second-line therapy after the quadruple therapy consisting of Pantoprazole 40 mg, Amoxicillin 1000 mg, Anaerobex 500 mg, and Clarithromycin 500 mg for 14 days failed. I would like to underline that this combination of antibiotics made me feel the worst I have felt in a long time. I was basically in a state of lethargy for 2-3 weeks, not able to think straight and extremely tired. Therefore, I was somewhat fearful before starting Pylera. It is important to force yourself to eat 4 times a day. I guess it is because of that reason that the side effects were not nearly as bad as the first-line therapy. It has been 5 weeks since I finished Pylera. I have been on PPI since then, which I will stop next week in order to get an HP AG test. I am feeling almost back to normal. It is a very slow process, to be honest. The first weeks after finishing Pylera, I still experienced heartburn and light reflux, even while on PPI. I will report how I feel once I am not on PPI and on the test result."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my 10th day of Pylera medicine. Day 1 to 3 was okay except black stool and had a little bit of stomach ache, but from day 4 until 7, I felt tiredness, nausea felt once or twice, a horrible metal taste in my mouth, occasional abdominal pain, and sometimes dizziness. Day 8 to 10 is just fine except for the bad taste. Guys, if I could do it, you could do it. What I did - drank a lot of water at regular intervals, took light meals, do not, and yes, do not take sugary items (I did once, and that day, the stomach ache was horrible), kept the same time for medicine, had 2 bananas daily. Medicine after the meal with omeprazole. Now I have to wait 8 weeks before the stool test, hope it’s gone. But from tomorrow, no capsules."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Am on day 5 of the 10-day regimen. I've had H. pylori for over 3 years now. Tried Prev pack and other therapies, didn't work. On the meds, some of the symptoms others were having, though no throwing up. Mainly feeling very tired and nauseated. Am a gym rat, so I just haven't been able to lift and use the Stairmaster as in prior to the treatment. But still manage 1.5 hours of gym time daily at reduced intensity. Bloating has significantly reduced since I started the meds. Sleepiness, though I manage like 5.5 to 6.5 hours per night. No issues of insomnia. I think the key is eating each time before the med, then drinking lots of water. My side effects reduced with drinking lots of water after each dose. I really pray this works. I was asking the doctor for back-to-back 10-day regimens, but he said not advisable. Good luck, y'all!!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 4. Days 1-3 were okay. Day 4, I have very soft stools and I'm going more than usual. My time is off, and I missed my last dose for 2 days. I was only given Pylera, not another med, as I see in the comments. The comments are helpful, I'm so glad to see them. I thought I was going crazy. Very hard to take 12 pills a day. Headaches starting, and my stomach is sore at the top. Feeling tired on day 4. Canceled plans for day 7. I needed to change my diet anyway, so this will help. I'm making a pot of chicken vegetable soup to eat before taking the dose. Hope it helps. I was going to quit, but after reading comments, I will keep it up for 10 days. Keep the comments coming."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "After day 7, my shoulder and leg joints hurt. I can handle bad taste, but this exhaustion is bad. I want to stop taking it - it's so frustrating. Calling the doctor in the morning."
