For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was very hesitant to take this medicine based on reviews. I had taken the amoxicillin, clarithromycin treatment a year before but it did not work. I tried Black Seed Oil, Mastic Gum, and Manuka Honey. They made my stomach feel better for a while, but then the pain started again, and my stool sample came back positive again. So I started Pylera. I took a strong probiotic twice a day, ate a good amount of food with each dose, and took omeprazole twice a day. I eliminated any foods or drinks with dairy or alcohol. I pretty much ate oatmeal, eggs, peanut butter sandwiches, and veggies. I did not have any problems with Pylera. About day 5, I had some stomach pains and was really tired, but was fine otherwise, and now my stool test was negative!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Read all the reviews here and started to think whether I will take it or not since I'm a very anxious person. I decided to take it since it's the only way to kill this strong bacteria that can cause stomach cancer! I'm on day 6 now, my only side effects are feeling so tired, dizzy all day, and dark stool. Advice for everyone: drink a lot of water and eat proper food without gluten, eat soups, chicken, lentils, avocado, and bananas, as well as eat oats (gluten-free) in the morning before you take your first pills, it will make you full and relaxed for a while. 4 days to go! Just feeling anxious all the time, hope this will kill this bacteria. I will come back here to update everyone if it's gone."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I had a positive experience with Pylera. As with any other antibiotic, you MUST eat before taking the medication. Moreover, drink water copiously throughout the day and with your meals. The instructions say 8 ounces: double this! Avoid foods that are high in calcium: calcium prevents the medication from working, making you feel worse. This includes ALL dairy but also many replacements like soy milk, etc. Read labels carefully. Unless explicitly told so by your doctor, stop multivitamins/supplements. NO ALCOHOL! Regular intervals will help. Taking the medication right after meals at 7 a.m., noon, 5:30 p.m., and 10 p.m. worked for me. Regularity is key. I took the full course of Pylera and had minimal side effects. I was rigorous about eating and drinking. I was somewhat tired. But I experienced none of the nausea, headaches, etc. that others describe. And I ascribe that to being regimental about the intake of food and water, and timing. Please do not be afraid of Pylera."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "So I am currently on Pylera for H. pylori. This is Day 8, and I can honestly say this is the worst. The first 5-6 days were fine! I was upbeat, then on day 7, I started feeling pregnant. I can smell everything, I can’t eat anything at all! I have no appetite. I throw up every morning, the nasty metal taste in my mouth, so tired, and feel like I never get any sleep. I don’t know what to do since I have to take the medication after meals, and I can’t eat, and I can’t miss a dose. I have to force myself to eat, but the nausea is horrible. I have mood swings, a fast heart rate.... BASICALLY FEEL LIKE I AM DYING SLOWLY. But I have to stick this through if I want to recover."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am a GI specialist, and I have prescribed Pylera many times... should have asked my patients better about their experiences with side effects. Why? Because I was diagnosed with H. pylori gastritis myself and chose Pylera as first choice eradication! What a nightmare! Days 1-3 were okay, but then I experienced all the above-mentioned side effects, crept to work, lost 6 pounds of weight, and as one of you mentioned: that's how chemotherapy must feel like! I fought through (under the concerned, pitiful looks of my colleagues) and finished yesterday still feeling pretty bad and exhausted. Hope it worked!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "It's my 10th day. The first 3 days, I had a general feeling of being ill, like all was not well, but I couldn't place my hands on the illness, but I was strong enough to work. I felt slightly lethargic and had a metallic taste in my mouth, which my pharmacist had warned me about. I didn't feel nauseous, but by the 4th day, I woke up feeling good and bursting with energy and felt like my body was asking for the next dose close to the time of taking the next dose. I ate a good meal before each dose, and it decreased any feeling of unease. My stool is black, a lot more, and is like coffee grounds. I wish my doctor had told me about taking probiotics to replace good bacteria."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 6 of the treatment, and I have never felt so awful in my entire life. I am very nauseous all the time, my mouth is dry, I have no appetite, but I force myself to eat to combat this feeling. Urine is a very dark amber color, warm sensation in my knees (like standing in front of a heater), tired all the time, could barely get out of bed after sleeping over 10 hours. I am ready to quit. I feel like H. pylori is better than having to deal with the side effects. I am dizzy, can't focus, and when I walk, I feel very wobbly - it was very hard to drive to work, but I have no other option."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Tip for taking Pylera: Make sure you eat a good amount of food before taking this medication. Also, take it with a lot of water, at least 8 oz. I did this, and my nausea was not nearly as bad as when I didn’t. It did make me poop a lot, and it was black, so just be aware that it’s normal with this medication. I did get tired about 5 days into it, but it was nothing I couldn’t handle for a few days. I’m sure everyone is different, but hopefully, this helps."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is day 10 for me, and I made it. Based on bad reviews, I was refusing to take this medication for nearly a month, I was terrified to start taking them. But my doctor said I have to take them. Well, the only side effect I had was dark stools, and that's it. No dizziness, no stomach pains, no black tongue, no dark urine, a bit of tiredness in the evenings, but nothing dramatic. I was strict with the times of taking them: 6:30 am, 11:30 am, 5:00 pm, 9:30 pm. Always with meals: well, rice, pasta, bread, avocado, bananas, egg, any other fruits. No sauces at all. 3 to 4 liters of water every day. I believe food and water made the difference in not having side effects."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I had no idea that I had this H. pylori infection, found out by submitting a stool sample. I am on the 9th day of taking Pylera, and I pray I am cured when I return to the doctor. I also hope I never have to take it again because of tired feeling, black stools, irritability, and overall bad feeling. So thankful that tomorrow is my last day!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I’m on day 6, and I’ve been experiencing extremely painful stinging in my stomach. I’m always tired, hard to eat towards the end of the day, hurts to pass stool because of the stinging pain, and I wake up feeling “hungover” and nauseous. I hope I don’t have to go through another round of this because it’s worse than the pain I was feeling beforehand!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my 9th day on this medication. The first day, I had no symptoms. As the days went by, it got worse-very nauseous every day after that. I am extremely tired and have a metal taste in my mouth all day that makes me even more sick to my stomach. I recommend chewing gum. Some cramping and black stool. I hope this medicine takes care of the problem. Taking a breathing test in a month-fingers crossed."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Ok, I'm back to share my experience with Pylera. I completed a 10-day dose of 12 pills/day. Glad that I read reviews before beginning, or else the side effects would've concerned me. From day 1, I experienced daily nausea even though I ate a small meal with each dose, had a slight headache for about 3 days, my feces turned blackish brown by day 3 and lost its stink! No kidding! I also felt a little off, i.e., a feeling not quite right and a little tired. I drank a lot of water with each dose, just as stated. I won't know the results for another 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, I am taking Omeprazole 2x daily and a probiotic."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Talk about a medicine with side effects. I tried Prevpac, which failed to eradicate H. pylori, so here I am. Before I start, remember not everyone's body reacts the same to medicine. Some are sensitive to these medicines while others are not. First day of medicine, no side effects. Second day, I started with a really bad headache. Third day, headache, fourth day, nausea and very tired. Fifth day, aches, pains, nausea, and weak. Rest of the days, very nauseated, my blood pressure dropped, and I was very lightheaded and shaky. Tried to sleep as much as I could. I am on day 8, and CANNOT wait for this to be over. Praying it works because I don't think I can go through it again."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I’ve had stomach pains off and on for a few years. Just recently, I went to a new gastro, which ran some tests that included blood work and a stool sample along with an abdominal ultrasound. Everything came back fine except I tested positive for H. pylori. I was prescribed a 10-day Pylera course along with omeprazole. Besides having dark stool, it was going smoothly for the first couple of days, but on day 6 is when all hell started breaking loose. I began having sharp abdominal pains, dizziness, nausea, and I was very tired. The only thing that helped was eating, as soon as I ate, my pains and symptoms went away temporarily. Two and a half more days to go, and I’m done. Hopefully, I won’t have to go through this again."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "The first two days, I felt alright. I drank a lot of water with my doses (about 16 oz). On day three, I panicked because my urine was really dark and wasted a bunch of time in the ER to find nothing wrong with me but needing to drink a little more water that day. From day 4 till the very end, I felt exhausted and queasy in the mornings, took forever to get motivated to do anything. Luckily, I'm on summer break! I read a lot on here that people took probiotics, but my pharmacist said that calcium would interfere with absorption, so I didn't. I eliminated all dairy to make sure there were no interferences. My last dose was yesterday morning, and I have gas building up now-I'm guessing it's from reintroducing the dairy into my diet?"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I had been experiencing severe stomach pain for about a year and a half that included nausea, stomach pain, always bloated, and pressure under my ribcage. Dr. performed a Urea Breath Test; tested positive for H. Pylori. I completed day 10 yesterday. I was lucky enough not to experience any severe side effects. I did experience multiple migraines while on it, and I always felt very tired. But just after taking the first full day of it, I definitely felt a difference. Today is my first day without having taken them, and I feel a hundred times better. I actually have an appetite! It's harsh and long, and I wanted to give up, but in the end, I thought it was worth it. Now to wait four weeks before I can get retested to ensure it's gone."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "So I finally took my last dose, it was this morning at 1 am. I still feel very tired and nauseous, loss of appetite, but it could also be because I developed oral thrush and had to take fluconazole, so probably all the meds together are not helping the stomach situation. My hardest days were 8-10 because I just could not wait for it to be over. I would say my main issue was I felt weak and tired. I work from home and had to take a day off around my 7th day. I don’t know how they expect people to go in to work, I wouldn’t have been able to. But luckily, I had no vomiting, and I powered through it. Now I’ll update in 1 month if H. pylori is gone!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my 10th day of Pylera medicine. Days 1 to 3 were okay except for black stool and I had a little bit of a stomach ache, but from days 4 until 7, I felt tiredness, nausea a few times, a horrible metal taste in my mouth, occasional abdominal pain, and sometimes dizziness. Days 8 to 10 were just fine except for the bad taste. Guys, if I could do it, you could do it. What I did: drank a lot of water at regular intervals, took light meals, do not, and yes, do not take sugary items (I did once, and that day the stomach ache was horrible), kept the same time for the medicine, and had 2 bananas daily. Took the medicine after the meal with omeprazole. Now I have to wait 8 weeks before the stool test, hope it’s gone. But from tomorrow, no capsules."
