For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I finished the 10-day treatment today. I had severe side effects including nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, weakness, shortness of breath, and loss of appetite. The worst side effects showed on days 5 to 10. Sometimes, the dizziness and shortness of breath were so strong that I felt I was dying. But every person has a different reaction. I hope the med works because I don't like to take it again."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Treatment of 10 days. 16 Pylera pills a day (plus 2 esomeprazole pills). My side effects were extreme exhaustion, sleepiness, nausea, black feces, dark urine, headache, feverish sensation as if you caught the flu, but with NO actual fever and occasional sneezing. My nose and throat run regularly. All in all, it is similar to the sensation of having a cold or flu, but without actual fever (just the sensation of it). The leaflet does not really describe most of the symptoms that I read here."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I tested positive for H. pylori on a blood test with results past the scale in 2013. I took the amoxicillin and clarithromycin with bismuth and Protonix for 14 days. I never had a test afterward due to no insurance, so I don't know if it was eradicated. Fast forward to May 2019, EDG showed negative for H. pylori, so they took my gallbladder out. I still had symptoms off and on since 2013. Fast forward to now, May 2022. I had another EDG due to recurring symptoms. EDG pathology showed negative, but the CLO test showed positive. I started the Pylera 5 days ago, and it has been nothing but a nightmare! Day 1, I immediately felt exhausted and nauseated. I wasn’t able to eat much prior due to extreme bloating and nausea. Each day since has just continuously gotten worse. Whole body aches, exhausted, brown urine, black poop (what little I am pooping due to not being able to eat), headaches, weak as if I have the flu. I’m taking the 3 capsules of Pylera every 4 hours with two 40 mg Protonix daily. I’d rather die than take this again."

I hate medication, and this has got to be the worst medication I've taken. I've been feeling very loopy here and there, slightly nauseous. Hopefully, it works."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 6, and let me tell you, that med is so nasty that it is the most hated med in my life. At day 2, I started having nausea, dark stool, headache, and just sometimes an uncomfortable feeling, and dark urine started at day 4. I wish I never went to the doctor or got this med. I hope it works because I would be annoyed after all that suffering, it must give me relief. I avoided everything they said to avoid, and the side effects still didn't go away. Hope that is helpful."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I had food poisoning in July 2021, recovered in a week but had persistent diarrhea for some reason (frequent bowel movements, not watery stool). My doc checked for H. pylori and it came back positive. I didn’t have any symptoms, but he said it’s better to treat it. Took Pylera, and I have to say it is a very tough medicine. The first two days were the worst: headache, nausea, neck stiffness, loss of appetite, fatigue, dry mouth, mood swings, feeling like I would die and depressed, the worst feeling ever. Then my body started adapting, and symptoms started to come and go throughout the treatment. Black stool, dark urine, and frequent urination. I just finished it 2 days ago and will check if I still have the bacteria or not. Advice: take with food, avoid dairy and alcohol during treatment, water, and good luck."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Currently on my 6th day of the treatment and it's the worst! Bloating, nausea, and diarrhea... can't wait until this nightmare ends. I have not been able to work for 5 days already due to this medication. Once you start the treatment, you can't stop it. For the diarrhea, I was told I cannot take any Imodium, which is worse. Good luck, people. Hope we all can survive this nightmare and move on..."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Started taking this and made me feel sick to my stomach, as well as feel not with it, very tired, and had headaches. The worst part is the last pill before bedtime. I had to set an alarm and eat crackers, then take the pill. Then, in the morning, I didn't want to get up and felt very worn. I still have 4 more days and hope I make it. Will have to recheck with my results on how I did. Oh, and also the cost of these, even with insurance, was $250.00. All I can say is they better work."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am starting day 5 of a 14-day treatment. I have experienced so many awful side effects that I started keeping a journal. I have extreme fatigue, my arms feel heavy, I can't really grip things (dropped my toothbrush in the sink 3 times last night), cold sweats, complete loss of appetite, dizziness, nausea, a slight ringing in my ears, feeling like there's a buzzing sensation in my scalp, minor headaches, cramps, dark stool, and finally this morning I threw up an hour after taking my first 3 pills. On top of all these horrible side effects, I am really struggling to fit in the 4 doses and the two doses of omeprazole. I am also prescribed pain medication 3 times a day for a separate issue, and the last two days I have only taken 3 total pills.... I can't figure out timing to safely take everything. Two nights ago I simply skipped the 4th dose because I could not fit it in. I am praying that Pylera works, because right now in the middle of it I am questioning, is this worth it!?"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "First of all, I am convinced of that despite all the negative side effects, I am positive that this is the best way to eliminate the bacteria. I am a 22-year-old, healthy patient who had mild symptoms due to the bacteria. I didn't have negative effects until I hit day 5-6, they aren't that bad (dark stool, reduced hunger, and coppery taste) during the day, but after 9 pm, they get way worse. The worst for me is the nausea since the headaches are quite mild and the tiredness is not that bad, but the nausea is horrible to the point that I had to take an antiemetic. Only 2.5 days to go, good luck to all the people unlucky enough to have side effects!!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I finished this medication a week ago. My side effects during treatment included nausea and fatigue, as well as a strange taste in my mouth. Other side effects after treatment included black stool, fatigue, and brain fog. My strength is still weak, and I took days off too. Do not worry about taking this medication, side effects differ from one person to another. Make sure you drink plenty of water."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "My doctor prescribed 4 capsules four times daily for two weeks and on a bland diet. The first couple of days were the worst for my stomach cramps. My side effects were lightheadedness, some parts of my body were achy, some random bruising, tiredness, nausea, leg cramping, light sensitivity, and sun sensitivity."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is my third day now. I was unlucky to catch the flu the day I started the treatment, so I am drained and tired. Side effects I had were migraine hitting my right side of the head all through my teeth, nausea, stomach pains, reflux at night, and waking up with panic attacks. Hope to survive the treatment. For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my 10th day of Pylera medicine. Day 1 to 3 was okay except black stool and had a little bit of stomach ache, but from day 4 until 7, I felt tiredness, nausea felt once or twice, a horrible metal taste in my mouth, occasional abdominal pain, and sometimes dizziness. Day 8 to 10 is just fine except for the bad taste. Guys, if I could do it, you could do it. What I did - drank a lot of water at regular intervals, took light meals, do not, and yes, do not take sugary items (I did once, and that day, the stomach ache was horrible), kept the same time for medicine, had 2 bananas daily. Medicine after the meal with omeprazole. Now I have to wait 8 weeks before the stool test, hope it’s gone. But from tomorrow, no capsules."

I know the medicine is supposed to get rid of the H. pylori, but if I already feel bad throughout the day, why would I want to take something that makes me feel worse? For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Am on day 5 of the 10-day regimen. I've had H. pylori for over 3 years now. Tried Prev pack and other therapies, didn't work. On the meds, some of the symptoms others were having, though no throwing up. Mainly feeling very tired and nauseated. Am a gym rat, so I just haven't been able to lift and use the Stairmaster as in prior to the treatment. But still manage 1.5 hours of gym time daily at reduced intensity. Bloating has significantly reduced since I started the meds. Sleepiness, though I manage like 5.5 to 6.5 hours per night. No issues of insomnia. I think the key is eating each time before the med, then drinking lots of water. My side effects reduced with drinking lots of water after each dose. I really pray this works. I was asking the doctor for back-to-back 10-day regimens, but he said not advisable. Good luck, y'all!!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am glad I found this site, it gave me the will to keep going through Pylera. After reading others' experiences, I am on day 9, one more day to go. I was about to quit on the 5th day, then I found other people's reviews who experienced the same side effects. My side effects were terrible starting day 2 till the 7th day. I had nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of appetite, and headache, plus stomach acid before bowel movements. On day 9, still loss of appetite and nausea, but less from all other side effects. I used Nexium twice a day plus Pylera. Will update after a few weeks with the end result. But without a doubt, a very hard drug and a bad experience going through the 120 pills of Pylera."
