For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I have been taking this drug for 2 days now, and the side effects I am dealing with at the moment are (dark stool, weird taste, tiredness, bad mood, and anxiety). Other than that, everything is good. I hope this medicine will be effective, my doctor prescribed it for 20 days :(."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my last day taking 14 pills a day (WooHoo!!) and I wish I would have found this post sooner. It's calming to see I'm not alone in all of these side effects. End of Day 1-10: dark/brownish colored urine (really freaked me out!). Day 2-10: metallic taste. Day 3: slight headache. Day 4: slight headache, decreased appetite. Day 5: decreased appetite. Day 6: decreased appetite, dark stool. Day 7: fatigue, dark stool. Day 8: intense headache, fatigue, black stool. Day 9: peripheral neuropathy left leg and foot (again freaked out!), extreme fatigue, black stool. Day 10: numb toes left foot, EXTREME fatigue, black stool. Mucusy off and on throughout (running nose, phlegm, light vaginal discharge)."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "My Pylera experience: 12 antibiotics daily was surprisingly easy, no side effects, just black stools. The only disappointment was that it didn't get rid of the H. pylori, so I'm once again on tetracycline and Flagyl + pantoprazole. The Pylera was like taking nothing compared to this. And by the way, I'm still H. pylori positive."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Finished my 10-day treatment a couple of days ago. Before starting with Pylera, I read all these reviews to know what to expect from side effects. Mine were dark stools, dark urine, upset stomach/intestine, bloated for 1-2 days, headache, dizziness, weakness. No diarrhea or vomiting. I always had full healthy meals and some snacks before bedtime, avoided milk and similar, as well as spicy food, juice, etc. I still feel somewhat weak, but nothing compared to during the treatment. Let's see what the outcome of the stool exam is. Good luck, all."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Let me start by saying everybody's experiences are different, but after reading all the reviews, I seriously expected the worst. I am now on day 7, the first day was okay, 2nd day slight headaches, 3rd day when I went to bed, I had a stomach spasm. Once I went to the bathroom, I was fine. Yes, you have headaches, but I take Advil for them. Slightly constipated, and the stool is dark, urine was dark, but the worst of it all for me was the nasty taste in my mouth. No vomiting, no diarrhea, just make sure you eat with your meals and take a probiotic. I take Accuflora. I read some people say don't eat yogurt, I did, and I was just fine. 3 more days to go, let's all pray this works. Oh, and I missed just one day of work."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I have H. pylori, and I am on day 3 of Pylera. I have belching, some stomachache, some heartburn, and dark stool. The key is to keep your stomach full and drink lots of water! In addition, cut out dairy, alcohol, and any carbonated drinks! I go back to the Dr. on 10/10/19, hopefully, I get some good news that my H. pylori is gone!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was given Pylera after being diagnosed with H. Pylori. I am a very active and healthy 41-year-old male. I'm 5'7" and 150 lbs. I will tell everyone that this medicine is TOUGH! All the way around. I'm on Day 6 of a 14-day regimen. I constantly have a metallic taste in my mouth, a slight headache, and severe nausea. I started the Pylera Saturday and have thrown up most every day and sometimes multiple times a day. I tried working on the meds, but I find it VERY difficult. I've had to use vacation days while on this medicine. I just physically cannot do it with the extreme fatigue and nausea/vomiting that I'm experiencing. I also have dark stools and diarrhea at times. My urine is also dark. My doctor did call in Zofran 4 mg for nausea on Day 4. The Zofran has helped. But I will say that my girlfriend says that I'm acting more like myself despite the severe side effects. It's like I'm being poisoned, is the best way I personally can describe Pylera. Good luck to all."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm on day 3, and so far, it hasn't been as bad for me as it has been for others. I have a bad taste in my mouth, lack of appetite, dark stools, and I'm really tired between 1-5 pm. Good luck to everyone else who's in the same boat."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is my 10th day of Pylera medicine. Days 1 to 3 were okay except for black stool and I had a little bit of a stomach ache, but from days 4 until 7, I felt tiredness, nausea a few times, a horrible metal taste in my mouth, occasional abdominal pain, and sometimes dizziness. Days 8 to 10 were just fine except for the bad taste. Guys, if I could do it, you could do it. What I did: drank a lot of water at regular intervals, took light meals, do not, and yes, do not take sugary items (I did once, and that day the stomach ache was horrible), kept the same time for the medicine, and had 2 bananas daily. Took the medicine after the meal with omeprazole. Now I have to wait 8 weeks before the stool test, hope it’s gone. But from tomorrow, no capsules."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is a horrible drug. On day two, I experienced severe nausea, dizziness, mood swings and random bursts of crying, abdominal pain, heart palpitations, dark urine and dark stool, and felt so weak I could barely stand. This medication has pretty severe side effects. Not everyone will have them, but I did and couldn't tolerate it. I had to stop immediately."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I want to write my experience with this medicine for the benefit to prevail. I was suffering from a strange pain in my stomach, and I always suffer from heartburn, even in the early morning, without eating anything, let alone the unpleasant gases. I went to a doctor who diagnosed me with Helicobacter pylori. He explained to me that it was better to take this new medication Pylera than the old combinations, the quadruple combination. I decided to take it and literally applied the doctor's instructions. Some of the symptoms I suffered from were heat, black stools. After completing the medication, there was slight diarrhea, but it increased significantly until after two months I did not see stools when going to the toilet. The reason is that the medicine killed all the beneficial bacteria that help the colon form stool, and thus the case is to bring back the beneficial bacteria, and my condition has improved a lot. A difficult medicine, in fact, if you suffer from pain, take it."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 8. Finally starting to feel somewhat normal again. This medicine has made me feel horrible. The first few days, I was extremely agitated with crying bouts that are completely abnormal for me. My doctor told me that it's a side effect, but I have seen several people mention the same issue. I still have a general feeling of being anxious and feeling ill. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headaches have all been frequent. Stool is very black. Metallic taste and dry mouth. I can say eating well before each dose and drinking water seems to have helped. I wish my doctor had given me more information, so I was at least prepared. I won't know until 3 months if it works - for my breath test. If it works, I suppose it is worth it."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "It is a hard treatment to do. I don't know yet if it is effective or not. I'm on my 6th day taking this medicine. I'm not able to work. I have a lot of side effects: headaches, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea, black stools, dark urine, etc. I already read the prescription again, and it says: 'Do not have milk or dairy products while you are taking this medicine.' I'll avoid these products, and I hope to feel better."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Getting ready to take my very last dose of Pylera. Had absolutely no side effects. Had dark stool due to the Pepto in the capsules, but that happens with just Pepto anyway. The biggest problem was finding proper foods to eat that fit into my diet. Omitting dairy and eggs really limited me. Have my follow-up in two weeks and am hoping all clear!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on day 6, and let me tell you, that med is so nasty that it is the most hated med in my life. At day 2, I started having nausea, dark stool, headache, and just sometimes an uncomfortable feeling, and dark urine started at day 4. I wish I never went to the doctor or got this med. I hope it works because I would be annoyed after all that suffering, it must give me relief. I avoided everything they said to avoid, and the side effects still didn't go away. Hope that is helpful."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I had food poisoning in July 2021, recovered in a week but had persistent diarrhea for some reason (frequent bowel movements, not watery stool). My doc checked for H. pylori and it came back positive. I didn’t have any symptoms, but he said it’s better to treat it. Took Pylera, and I have to say it is a very tough medicine. The first two days were the worst: headache, nausea, neck stiffness, loss of appetite, fatigue, dry mouth, mood swings, feeling like I would die and depressed, the worst feeling ever. Then my body started adapting, and symptoms started to come and go throughout the treatment. Black stool, dark urine, and frequent urination. I just finished it 2 days ago and will check if I still have the bacteria or not. Advice: take with food, avoid dairy and alcohol during treatment, water, and good luck."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm currently on day 4 of a 20-day regimen. Drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of rest has helped counter the side effects of this medicine. By day 2, I was exhausted. I slept the majority of the day and night and did not understand that it was because of the medicine until I began reading reviews. Day 3, I experienced headaches throughout the day. I have also experienced extreme moodiness, dark stools, and an aftertaste in my mouth since beginning the medicine. This is my 2nd treatment, and I'm optimistic because I would not want to go through this again. I'm not sure how my next couple of weeks at work will be. I have stopped taking my multivitamins so that the antibiotic won't have any interference, so my energy levels are low."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am starting day 5 of a 14-day treatment. I have experienced so many awful side effects that I started keeping a journal. I have extreme fatigue, my arms feel heavy, I can't really grip things (dropped my toothbrush in the sink 3 times last night), cold sweats, complete loss of appetite, dizziness, nausea, a slight ringing in my ears, feeling like there's a buzzing sensation in my scalp, minor headaches, cramps, dark stool, and finally this morning I threw up an hour after taking my first 3 pills. On top of all these horrible side effects, I am really struggling to fit in the 4 doses and the two doses of omeprazole. I am also prescribed pain medication 3 times a day for a separate issue, and the last two days I have only taken 3 total pills.... I can't figure out timing to safely take everything. Two nights ago I simply skipped the 4th dose because I could not fit it in. I am praying that Pylera works, because right now in the middle of it I am questioning, is this worth it!?"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "First of all, I am convinced of that despite all the negative side effects, I am positive that this is the best way to eliminate the bacteria. I am a 22-year-old, healthy patient who had mild symptoms due to the bacteria. I didn't have negative effects until I hit day 5-6, they aren't that bad (dark stool, reduced hunger, and coppery taste) during the day, but after 9 pm, they get way worse. The worst for me is the nausea since the headaches are quite mild and the tiredness is not that bad, but the nausea is horrible to the point that I had to take an antiemetic. Only 2.5 days to go, good luck to all the people unlucky enough to have side effects!!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I finished this medication a week ago. My side effects during treatment included nausea and fatigue, as well as a strange taste in my mouth. Other side effects after treatment included black stool, fatigue, and brain fog. My strength is still weak, and I took days off too. Do not worry about taking this medication, side effects differ from one person to another. Make sure you drink plenty of water."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I have been taking Pylera for 3 days. Today, I am not taking it anymore. The side effects are horrible. I know the medicine is supposed to get rid of the H. pylori, but if I already feel bad throughout the day, why would I want to take something that makes me feel worse? Vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, black stools!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I have had abdominal discomfort in the last few months, without having very severe pain, just grinding in random places throughout the abdomen on different days and stools with a pasty, yellowish consistency. The heartburn was felt very few times, but I took tests and it was positive for Helicobacter, so I took the treatment. I finished the medication yesterday, and I can say that, in addition to the dark stools and urine (which are apparently common during the process), I had headaches every day, and the abdominal discomfort remained. However, the stool consistency returned to normal. I will have an endoscopy and colonoscopy in a month to do complete tests and see if at least the Helicobacter has been eradicated. I'll update as soon as I get the results."
