For Bronchitis "I was prescribed and took the Azithromycin pack (Z Pack) when I came down with an acute case of bronchitis. It was the traditional 2 pills at the first dose, and then 1 pill each following day. I started to feel a noticeable improvement by day 3, and was nearly completely better 7-8 days later. The medicine definitely worked for me, however, the side effects were strongly unpleasant. I had severe stomach pains, along with diarrhea, even when I did take the pills with food. Since the pills work for 10 days, I had the side effects for that long too. Overall though, I'm happy I took the Z Pack and it helped cure me quickly."

For Sinusitis "I’ve taken this Azithromycin Dose Pack twice a year for about fourteen years for sinusitis and never had a problem with it, always worked great without any side effects. When I started taking it this time around, the headaches were so bad, and the diarrhea and loose stool are unbelievable, so after four days, I’ve stopped and won’t take the last pill, that’s how bad the side effects are this time. I know one day more for the last pill would be silly to stop, but I just can’t handle the side effects any longer. The brand that the pharmacy gave me this time is a different brand, so that may have something to do with it. The pharmacy I used for years has closed down, so the other one has different pills or brands for the same meds. I’ve always said a pill is just a pill, and it doesn’t matter what brand it is, but after this, I changed my mind completely on that."

For Chlamydia Infection "I had pharyngitis and chlamydia, which was a double whammy. This is my second time taking these meds. The first time, not really any side effects, but this time, when I was on my last pill to take, I had terribly bad vomiting and diarrhea. Couldn't even keep water down. The next morning, I puked after drinking water, went to sleep, woke up, and felt better. Drank water again and am getting that pit feeling again. It did cure everything, though. This is to be continued..."

For Pneumonia "Started 5-day dose pack on 1/17/18 at 8:30 pm. I had been running a fever for 6 days by the 17th. I finished my pack the evening of the 21st. I am still spitting out green every 20 minutes or so when awake, but no fever today. I had diarrhea the first evening only. The last evening dose, I noticed a tiny blister-like rash about the size of kosher salt on my chest and back. I still have them today, the 23rd, and am still sick."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "It worked fast, and I felt better after four days, but my side effects were diarrhea two hours after each dose and itchy skin with a rash. Now, two weeks after finishing the prescription, I have an infection in my mouth and throat -- oral yeast infection or thrush is listed as a side effect."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Dose: Azithromycin 500 mg four times a day. Prescribed for 7 days. On day 2 now, I feel the medication is working, feeling a little better already, but all day I've been with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and back pain. I usually don't get any side effects from antibiotics, but I'm struggling with this one. If side effects continue on day 3, I'm calling the doctor. Could be the dose is too high, who knows. I'm not enjoying this so far."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "5-day pack took 2. First day, no problem. Second day, 1. Third day, 1. That night, couldn't sleep at all, heart was pounding and skipping, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain from front wrapping around to back, felt anxious, dizzy, felt like I was spinning. Stopped taking. Next day, still had symptoms, can't wait till it is out of my body. Never had trouble with any antibiotics before. This was my first time taking this medicine. I wish I had read side effects before I took it."

For Chlamydia Infection "I had the one-time 1g dose pack of Azithromycin for Chlamydia. It says to take on an empty stomach, but as soon as I drank the mixture, the food was ready, so I literally ate a full course meal with it. Then, about 45 minutes later, my stomach started to hurt. I used the bathroom twice with diarrhea."

For Bronchitis "I have asthma, so maybe it makes it worse. But it came on suddenly with no fever. No change in pulse. Just a cough that hurt the back of my head so bad that it rattled my brain and made me see fireworks in my head. I don't think this Z-Pak worked for me because after laying in bed, no energy for 1 week, I went to the doc again. This time he prescribed Bactrim, and it seems to be working - I'm feeling better. The doc asked if I had a loose stool. No, I didn't, but my BF has the same symptoms and a very loose stool. I just wish he would go to the doc so we don't pass this back and forth. Azithromycin has worked for me in the past, but not with whatever this super cough is. It's feeling like nothing ever before is... I just wonder how contagious it is."

For Bronchitis "I had been having a mild sporadic cough for a week and a half before I started having the 'under the weather' cold feeling. It started in my chest and was accompanied by body aches, a sore throat, and a headache from a dry cough. After two days of dry cough and developing laryngitis from coughing so much, it moved up into my nasal area, where I started finally experiencing mucus. By the third day, I was feeling like crap and had no real appetite. So, I went to the local clinic. I was diagnosed with a cold, bronchitis, and laryngitis. I was prescribed a 5-day antibiotic treatment of 250 mg. The first day, I had nausea, diarrhea, and a racing heartbeat for a couple of hours. I started feeling better after 2 days, kept taking the antibiotic, the side effects went away, and so did the cold. Fast."
