Atogepant "I started taking Qulipta about 2 months ago. I've suffered from migraines since I was 3. I have had chronic headaches my whole life. I've tried so many medications, and the side effects were crazy, and I couldn't take them. This is the first medication that actually works. The only side effects I really have are constipation and fatigue. And my appetite has decreased, which is fine with me. I highly recommend!"

Atogepant "I take 30mg/day, and for the first time in thirty years, I'm able to stave off a headache with ibuprofen, which used to be completely ineffective. I'm taking my rescue meds very infrequently - maybe once every month or two - when I used to ration them. I'm waking up feeling rested almost every day for the first time in my life, as well."

"After 6 weeks on 60 mg atogepant, the migraine ceased. It had been occurring every 2-3 days, so this was a relief. It does have side effects for me though: hair loss, weight gain, fatigue, breathlessness, constipation."

Atogepant "Qulipta has been a lifesaver for me. I had gotten to where I was having migraines pretty much every day. I couldn't stand the lights on or being outside. The pain was 8-10 on the pain scale. My doctor gave me a sample of Qulipta, and it worked within a couple of days. I now take it every day and very rarely have a migraine. Maybe twice a month is all. I can't say I have had any side effects while taking Qulipta. My insurance company has given me a hard time about taking it. In fact, they refused to pay for it. However, the company that makes Qulipta has been very good to me and has helped me continue to get the medication. Thank you for finally coming up with a product that works! I've tried so many medications as well as Botox injections, and nothing has worked until Qulipta!"

Atogepant "I have found results really quickly but as my body adjusted I needed a higher dose. 60mg. I am very impressed. I was in pain daily and limited all activities just to prevent a migraine attack. This has become my new preventative. Only 3 weeks in though."

"It seems okay. Had migraines daily for the last five years, but they seem to help a bit. Constipation my main side effect. I have nerve block and Botox as well. Been on it 3 months, but it definitely helping my migraines. Just don’t miss a dose because you will know it. I am on 60 mg."

"I have only been on this medication for a week, but as a chronic migraine sufferer, I have noticed a good change so far. It may be too soon to say whether it’s working or I’m just having a good spell with fewer migraine attacks, but so far, the outlook is good. The only side effect I have encountered so far is constipation. However, I have severe IBS, so it’s almost like a benefit to me. I would say, if you do suffer from chronic migraines, definitely have a word with your neurologist about this medication. It might help you also."

"Like many of the reviewers, atogepant has been life-changing for me. I suffered from chronic migraines, which had become nearly intractable over a course of months, occurring around 14-28 days a month. I had such bad sensitivity to air-conditioning, screens, and coffee, lights were such an issue that I was contemplating giving up my work for my PhD. I couldn't watch TV with my partner or do really any activities. I had tried propranolol, candesartan, and topiramate, with little response, and topiramate was making me constantly nauseated and drowsy with little response. The first two to three weeks of atogepant and weaning topiramate, I had profound nausea and found it hard to get up in the mornings and noticed a mild increase in migraine frequency. However, now four months on, I am getting 1-2 episodes a month that are very minimal and may respond to sumatriptan. I cannot believe the difference."

Atogepant "I've had chronic migraines since I was 13 and headaches before 13 years old. I've been on MULTIPLE medications, some help but none really take them away. I got Qulipta prescribed to me (I take 60mg in the morning daily) and ever since I've been on it, they have improved so much. I'll occasionally get a headache but it's not like the others. I haven't had any side effects that are listed on the bottle or what your doctor tells you (but it might not be the same for you)."

Atogepant "I have tried nearly every available treatment for chronic migraine. I was getting so many, and then treating them individually, that I was getting 'rebound' head pain. It is an awful cycle. I was unsure how I was going to be able to continue working due to my severe migraines 10-15 days per month. After a battle with my insurance company, who made me try a myriad of seemingly unrelated medications, I was finally able to get Qulipta. I knew it worked because my neuro had given me a 2-week sample dose. Qulipta has changed my life. I get maybe 1-2 per month now, and they are so mild I can just carry on with my day. I have my life back - I no longer live in fear of a migraine ruining every event. They will warn you constipation is a main side effect. If you are already living a healthy lifestyle with lots of water, fiber, veggies - it should be mild enough."

Atogepant "I’ve been suffering from chronic migraines for most of my life, and I used a sample from my doctor. Within a week, I was not getting any migraines. I was a little bit sleepy on it, so I took it at night instead of the morning, and there were no problems-migraine free for a month. I’m just miserable that my insurance doesn’t cover it."

"It seemed to work almost instantly. From 18+ migraine days a month to 4 in the first month and 2 in the second. Two months after that, I had 1 migraine day. I know when I would be getting a migraine, but it never develops beyond a pressure feeling in my head. Side effects seem to be a decreased appetite, especially for snacking between meals, and increased fatigue. This could be down to other conditions I have, but I am more tired than usual, with lethargy rather than sleepiness. I take 60 mg at night."

Atogepant "I have suffered from chronic migraines since I was a young girl. I tried several medications before my insurance agreed to cover Qulipta. I have been taking it for almost 3 months now and have not had one single migraine episode - none! There are times I get a slight headache, but it doesn’t last longer than an hour with no return. It’s amazing, and I am so grateful for this medication. No side effects either."

Atogepant "This medication works, though my experience is it’s most effective starting with the 2nd hour up to hours (18 - 20). Starts reducing in strength after that time period. Willing to supply further comments and speak with patients using the same medication."

"I've been a chronic migraine sufferer since I was ten, tried numerous meds over the years. The first that worked was Emgality, started in 2020 when it came to the UK. It was a life changer, and I dropped from 20 migraine days a month to 2 or 3. Last year, when my body built up antibodies to it, I've had almost constant migraines since later in 2024. Atogepant was recommended but not available on the NHS in our region, a considered decision of a private prescription with the approval of my NHS consultant, £10 a pill and a three-month prescription. Into my third week, if it's possible, migraines have gotten worse, vision issues, and inability to stay awake. Checked out with the consultant who suggests there's no connection. Anyone else had a similar experience taking it?"

Atogepant "I've been using Qulipta for about 4 months now. It worked much better in the beginning but now, not so much. I take it first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. I am going to have to discontinue use because of the prohibitive cost. I am a senior on Medicare."

Atogepant "Qulipta has been a life changer for me. I've tried every medication, diet change, and all-natural remedies to no avail. I cut my 60 mg pill in half because I don't have insurance. Since day one of taking the meds, I've barely had any migraines. I went from 3-4 days in bed all day to 0. At first, I was afraid they would come back, but after 3 months on the meds, I have hope. I've only had one or two less severe migraines in 3 months. Unbelievable for me. I thought I would never find help. The only side effects I've had is constipation, so I take a stool softener 2x per day, and that has helped. The constipation was so bad it was like having cement in my bowels. No kidding. Also, I've experienced a little problem with staying asleep, but I’ll take that any day over being bedridden. I highly recommend Qulipta and hope it becomes more affordable soon."
