"Started shift work again after 20 years and was dragging! Doc put me on the armodafinil and it’s been a blessing! I can stay fully awake and engaged and go through my days without a hint of exhaustion! This even helped during a recent opioid withdrawal episode after an accident and cut the sick time down a day or two."

"Been taking Adderall to get me through my long days and just did not like the crash and pounding headache to follow. It also seemed no two days were ever the same, one day just lots of energy and no headache the next day just really tired, jittery, and massive headache. My doctor put me on Nuvigil 250 mg, I always start lower than he wants so I started at 150 mg in the morning to ease into it. I planned a couple of low-key days at home to get my body used to it, and my brain could focus on work and not the drug. About the third day, I got off early to stop by Kroger to grab food for dinner that night. Got back to my truck and had to literally sit there for hours, I could not even get the truck into gear. My mind had checked out, I knew what I was doing, but I was not going to do it. The act of driving scared the crap out of me. I called my sister and spoke with her for several hours, drank lots of water, I finally got my courage up to try and make my way back home. I was so jittery, paranoid to the bone."

"OMG, this is a condition that can be medically treated? You've got to be kidding me! I have wrestled with this since I was in grade school. I was called lazy and told I wasn't applying myself. Even at one of my earliest jobs, others laughed at me saying, 'I don't need a clock to tell me when it is lunchtime. I just look or listen for G's work boots, because they don't move or make a sound until noon or lunchtime.' Hope that makes sense to all. All my days now are spent with hours wasted just griping at myself for why I can't get going before noon or 1 pm, and why I can hardly sleep before 4 am, and all I need is 3 to 4 hours. Day after day, I reassert myself to try to get going earlier and go to bed earlier, but it is all useless."

"I have Shift Work Disorder and SLE lupus; this caused a lupus flare-up. 'It woke up the monster!' Please have your doctors communicate amongst each other. Nuvigil is a stimulant."

"I didn't get the best results from this medication. Does not last long. I have to take 3X recommended dose to be productive throughout the day. Not what I expected."
