Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Had the worst sinus infection of my life and couldn't sleep for 2 days. My sinuses felt like concrete. After 2 days on Augmentin, I finally felt relief. It took 7 days to completely get rid of the infection. No side effects, maybe because I'm 6 ft 7 and weigh 260 lbs and had more body mass."

"Do not take this amoxicillin/clavulanate if you suffer from panic attacks or anxiety. I have been feeling like I’m losing my mind and constantly crying and having the worst thoughts. I didn’t know where it was coming from, but it all makes sense now after reading other reviews. Don’t do it."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "This is my second time using Augmentin. Before this, it was used for an ear infection, and now for sinusitis. Symptoms cleared up almost exactly when my doctor said they would-about 2 days in each time. Symptoms have been minimal, with only minor stomach upset. Taken with probiotics several hours apart from it regularly, I managed to avoid a yeast infection."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Possibly the greatest thing ever invented. No side effects for me, and it knocks out my long-running sinus infections. Z-packs and other antibiotics are almost useless for me. 875 mg Augmentin twice per day for 10 days gets rid of the infection completely. Everything else helps for a week or two, and then I'm back to the doctor."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Had such a bad sinus infection that my right eye and face were swelling. Got 875 Augmentin twice daily. On day 2, the swelling stopped, and I can see out of my eye. Sore throat and nose running because my sinuses are now draining! No GI or side effects. Love it so far."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Seem to work very well. I have had a sinus infection for over a week and was feeling miserable. I started taking Augmentin yesterday, and today I already feel 90% better! Yay! I think it is very important to take a high-potency good bacteria pill (forgetting right now what they are called)! Very pleased with this prescription."

"I don't know why so many people hate this drug. It has cured me so many times. I never had that diarrhea at all, maybe it is smoother, lol, but all good. I know everyone is different, but with me, two thumbs up works every time!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "I was recently prescribed Augmentin 875 mg two times a day for 10 days for a very severe upper respiratory/sinus infection. On day one, I had pain in my head, some sweating/chills, lethargy, and stomach upset. Day two, I had bad diarrhea, anxiety, nervousness/agitation, sweating/chills, and some tiredness. Day three, I had all of the above, as well as developing one hive on my right arm after my evening dose. The medication helps my sinus infection, but the side effects are troubling. I do not feel good for at least two or three hours after taking this medication."

"Was given a 10-day supply of amoxicillin/clavulanate for my sinusitis and felt better from the first dose, but was farting up a storm, causing my pug to stare at me, lol. I’ll take that against feeling like garbage any day! “Better the shame than the pain,” an ex used to say, lmao! Make sure you eat something and drink plenty of fluids like water, tea, and low-sugar Gatorade. A probiotic is a good idea in general while taking an antibiotic. FINISH the FULL prescription! Some of these comments are wild, lol...(don’t let them scare you if you haven’t taken the meds yet)."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "AVOID, AVOID. I was prescribed this for what was diagnosed as a bacterial upper respiratory infection. Have never had issues with antibiotics before. Yes, it improved my symptoms from the infection....but every day, I had a POUNDING heartbeat in the mornings...and it was causing profound fatigue and weakness every day. Didn't figure it out until after I took it the morning of day 5 and did some research. I STOPPED THAT TOXIC MEDICINE then and there. It's now 48 hours after I stopped it and I still have easy fatigue and palpitations. AVOID!!!!"

"This is a strong and multi-purpose antibiotic. Yes, you will get stomach pain, yes, you will get loose stools, and yes, you get some other form of discomfort. But if you want to rid your upper respiratory infection quickly and for good, then this is the drug. No pain, no gain. This drug almost guarantees that the original infection will not return. When it comes to sinuses, you need to destroy all of the bad bacteria for good. Just reducing the bacteria with a mild antibiotic that agrees with you is certain to allow the same bacteria to grow and make you sick again a month or two in the future. Tough it up, buttercup, and destroy that bad bacteria for good."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Ok, so I started with pneumonia, and then it kinda came back as a sinus infection/bronchitis (I have no idea). So they gave me this antibiotic for resistance issues. The first dose had my tummy rumbling, but I ate and took a probiotic! I had loose stools (and still have them), but I am slightly afraid of antibiotics just because they upset my stomach (previously the doxy for my lungs). But the probiotic helps SO MUCH! As long as you eat with it and take a probiotic if you want to, then you should be fine. I really like the way it’s working! I’m almost clear even though I’m on it for a week, and I’m only two days in. Be safe!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "I loved the antibiotic. If you take probiotics and eat yogurt, you'll be fine. If you're sensitive to antibiotics and get yeast infections easily, I recommend asking your GP for Diflucan. Take 2 pills 2 or 3 days into the antibiotic course, then on day 6 or 7."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "I would NEVER recommend this drug to ANYONE! Took 1 pill about 3 hours before bed. Finally got to bed at 3 am and lay there for an hour with such nausea I had to get up. Tried to take some Pepto-Bismol for it, and no sooner than I took it, I got violently ill! I was vomiting the rest of the night until around 6 am. I have no problem at all with taking regular Amoxicillin, so whatever else is in here, my body rejects it strongly! One minute I'd be sweating like it was 120 degrees, the next I'd have the chills so bad it felt like I was outside with shorts and a tank top on in the middle of winter (like now). NEVER AGAIN! Stay as far away from this drug as possible!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Positives: - Sore throat and eye infection gone. Negatives: - Woke up to spine, neck, chest, left arm pain to the point I thought I was having a heart attack. - Numb limbs, ears, and eye pressure. - Nightmares, such as birds attacking and pecking my brain. - Non-stop migraines that affected my vision, and I thought I had a brain tumor or aneurysm. - Brain fog and fatigue that I can barely hold a conversation. - Acid reflux. - Heart palpitations that wake me up in my sleep. - Food and water taste bitter with an aftertaste. - Dry eyes and photophobia. - Wake up in the mornings feeling hungover and disoriented. You can see the cost/benefit of this medication."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Went in to the urgent care thinking I had strep, but found it was a sinus infection. Been using this for 4 days now, and I thought it was helping pretty well, and the pain had gone away some, but then now I feel like it's going backwards, and I keep getting ear and throat pain again, but only at night, and I seem to feel better during the daytime."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Was prescribed Augmentin for a sinus infection, and my anxiety has been crazy (already diagnosed with anxiety, and it seems to be worse). My throat felt worse before it got better. I'm also having headaches, nausea, and loose bowels. I can't wait to be done!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Went to urgent care with a toothache. Told I had a severe sinus infection. Mind you, I've had swelling on the left side of my face for 5 years, been through every test out there for answers with no success. Ever since the swelling started, I've suffered ear infections (left side only) and sinus infections to no end. Dentist would tell me my X-rays don't look normal but offered no explanation. Okay, so urgent care prescribed penicillin 500 mg, but I explain to the doctor that I may have a tolerance to that with all the antibiotics I've been on, so she prescribes Augmentin 875 2x a day for 10 days. Over a few days, I'm dizzy, nauseous, pressure headaches like my brain is being squeezed. The worst medicine EVER!!!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "I was prescribed this from the hospital for sinusitis. I’ve been on all types of antibiotics in my life, and this stuff is horrible. Woke up this morning convinced I was dying. Anxiety, panic attacks, tarry stool, chest and back pain, side pain, chest tightness, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, pale, dizziness, headache. I could go on. Stopped dosage and heading to PCP tomorrow to figure out what’s going on now."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "3 hours after my first dose of Augmentin 875, I started vomiting in addition to diarrhea. I thought I had a stomach flu. I waited 5-6 days to restart the antibiotic. Well, 3 hours after that dose, guess where I was, in the bathroom vomiting again for several hours! I will NEVER take this medicine again!!! I've had Augmentin before but only experienced nausea. Not anymore! :("

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Augmentin: The first time I took it was about 8 years ago. It did the job quickly, but I had diarrhea for about a year. {Not kidding! I also developed plantar fasciitis for a brief period, possibly due to a lack of certain nutrients caused by the extended bout of diarrhea.} I did not know what probiotics were at the time!? :( I blamed myself and that other guy, my doctor, for not mentioning the benefits of probiotics. Probiotics maintain a healthy level of good bacteria that most antibiotics will destroy. This prevents or minimizes greatly any diarrhea. Augmentin also contains clavulanic acid, which causes the upset stomach. Ranitidine, which is an acid reducer, can help soften the sour stomach often associated with Augmentin. Augmentin does work!!!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Was prescribed Augmentin 875/125 tab twice daily for 10 days for bacterial sinusitis. I am currently on day 8 now. I was a little iffy about this medication the first two days, as it did upset my stomach and cause many trips to the restroom, even using with food as directed. Day three, I had a nasty headache and insomnia. But honestly, by day 4, I felt pretty good. Actually awoke without any congestion. Energy started returning. Day 5-6, I started having some nausea and congestion again upon waking, but trips to the restroom stopped. Day 8, mild congestion, but feel normal for once. Doc did advise if the post-nasal drip, etc., didn't cease, I may need to see an ENT. So I'd say that this med is doing its job handling the bacterial infection at least. Feel 90% better. Symptoms were uncomfortable when they hit, not unbearable."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "After a couple of hours after taking an 875 mg tab, my stomach became rock hard. I had the most debilitating stomach cramps known to man. I've never vomited as much and as hard as I did that day. The diarrhea was like I was urinating out of my anus. After drinking a bottle of kefir, I was good again."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "I'm on day 3 out of 10 of Augmentin 875/125 twice a day for a sinus infection. So far, I haven't had any serious side effects, however, I'm starting to experience loss of appetite, drowsiness, diarrhea, and dizziness within the first 2.5 hours of taking a dose. It is also causing insomnia, but I take a sleeping pill, and I'm fine. Other than that, the medicine is working great. I'm feeling better already (I can breathe again, my head doesn't feel like 100 lbs! pressure is inside it). It is a very strong antibiotic, so if you take it, be sure to drink PLENTY of fluids, get lots of rest, and try some yogurt for the abdominal cramps from the diarrhea, it seems to help for me!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "Was prescribed Augmentin 875/125 for a bad chest infection twice a day for 14 days six months ago, and I barely made it to day 10 and had to quit. I felt horrible, constantly sick to my stomach - gut sick, pain, bloating, gas, and my body felt like the flu, with body aches and strange sweat episodes, and a pounding heartbeat occasionally. Recently, I had a bad case of a sinus infection, so I requested a lower dose of 500 mg when prescribed the same medicine for 7 days, twice a day. I am on day 5 today and absolutely cannot take it anymore; same symptoms. I feel worse, my head is pounding, my stomach is completely full of nausea and gut sick with pain, and I have experienced a small low-grade fever with sweats this time, and brain fog. So that, with all the body aches and burning eyes - I am just gonna let it go again, because I tried. I, however, never had any reactions to Doxycycline or Keflex, but Augmentin is like taking a flu pill for rapid onset."
