Reviews for Acetaminophen/oxycodone to treat Chronic Pain

Sort by:

Percocet 5/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "My Doctor changed my medicine from hydcodone to this. Does not alleviate my pain. Makes me feel lightheaded a little for an hour. Cannot sleep, or get any relief from the pain. This medicine is supposed to be stronger then hydrocodone. I suspect there is very little oxycodone in these tablets, not 5 mg as stated. My daughter, who has access to a spectroanalyzer in her lab, is going to compare this medicine with similar brand. As for myself I can tell you, this is either one of those taper drugs, or just plain junk."

Percocet 10/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I was diagnosed with a bulging disc that radiates to my tailbone. I have Peripheral neuropathy in my feet and toes as well as slight RLS. The issue I came across is it is very hard to convince doctors of the pain involved with this type of disease. My 1st doc visit I was given Tylenol 3 (baby aspirin for neuropathy), then moved up to Norco 7.5 2x/day, still not enough, then moved up to Norco 10's 2x/day and was still not enough. All this took 8 months, 8 months of constant pain. I found the Norco side effect of difficulties with being able to finish during sex and the loss of feeling was not pleasant. So my doctor switched me to Percocet 10/325. Wow, what a difference. This medication was a life saver for me. I have my life back."

Percocet 5/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I have lower back pain due to stenosis/arthritis. Also, I have a birth defect in which c4 / 5 are fused. Arthritis (severe), in my left hip/knee. Toss in fibromyalgia, and the pain is almost intolerable. Before taking this med, my life had been confined to either sitting or lying down. Grocery shopping was out of the question, without the use of the motorized shopping carts. It was so bad, that I just thought, "Why am I still living, this is no life at all." After a few different pain meds, that failed to work, my doctor prescribed this med and it has been a wonder drug for me! Now, I can walk through stores PUSHING a cart! My Pain level has gone from 8, down to 2 or 3 using this. Please, keep it available to the people with severe pain!"

Percocet 5/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, it took about two years for the full debilitating affect to kick in. Eventually I was in constant pain and could barely walk. I had a lumbar laminectomy which did not work to relieve the pain. After complaining to my Doctor, he finally prescribed Pecocets. They were nothing short of a miracle in terms of pain relief with minor side effects"

"Kidney cancer, possible paratid tumor. This helps better than anything so far. I hate the side effects, constipation, abdominal pain, pray doctors do more treating so I won't need it one day"

"I have a spinal cord injury. I have been on 10/325 for over 2 years now. Certain brands work better than others. Generics don't contain the exact same recipe as each one. So far I have experienced 3 different ones. Amnea marked with IP204 are by far the best pain relief ever. Endo which are yellow (and I don't have my old bottle) are worthless for pain relief, these gave me the runs majorly. Mallinkrt Pharm is the new ones I just got and they are not taking the edge off the pain and giving me horrid constipation. Unfortunately, if you are a pain patient you are labelled as an addict so telling your doctor that the pill doesn't work is worthless. Ask the pharmacist before what kind they have and let them know what ones work for you!"

Percocet 7.5/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I really didn't feel any relief from this oval white pill called percocet,it was one I've never had before never even seen this kind from my pharmacy, they have made me sick and I've had different ones that are great. If I receive these kind again I'll not be doing business with same pharmacy. I mean really was there something different in this pill with a u on it. I can't remember the other numbers because it's time for my refill an b4 I get them I'll tell my pharmacy not to give the same ones. Just letting everyone know they aren't worth a penny..thanks"

"With a severe spinal disorder & several herniated discs I have had injections from my pain management Doctors & I must say that they did relieve my pain for around 2-3 months. However, the pain did of course return in full force. After about 3 to 5 other types of pain medicine , they finally prescribed me the oxycodone / acetaminophen 7.5-325 mg tablets. Wow, what a relief. It works really great for me with no side effects. First time in a very long time I will say I am pain free for the most part."

Tylox (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "While pregnant with baby #3, I started having joints pop out of their sockets (I've been diagnosed with EDS, but at the time my doctors had no idea what was going on). This caused extreme pain, especially when it was a hip. My OB/GYN prescribed Tylox for the pain and it helped a lot. After giving birth, I was prescribed Tylox following my c-section and breastfed my baby with no ill effects. As for the "it is unknown if this medication passes into breastmilk"...that is completely untrue. Dr. Hale has studied nearly every medication on the market using breastmilk samples (& blood, plasma, etc). For any doctors reading this, or any nursing mothers, I recommend you look up "Medications and Mother's Milk"."

"I have neuropathy and fibromyalgia and have been taking this medicine for over 2 years along with other pain medicines. Over time, it seems as if it does not work as well as it did when I was first prescribed, but it allows me to function and maintain some sense of normalcy."

Percocet (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I have fibromyalgia for about 20 years now, I was taking symbalta, mobic and some other med. but they did not help. I take now Percocet for pain on really bad days and it helps a lot. Have no side affects. On days that I can tolerate pain I take Advil."

Percocet 10/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I have had Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) for about 2 years now in my leg after 3 Surgeries to repair my achilles tendon and peroneus brevis tendon and a DVT. I take percocet 10, tramadol and baclofen. The med is a lifesaver. I am a nurse and work 12 hour shifts, lots of walking and standing. Not sure I could work without it. I'm only 43. So thankful that I was prescribed this."

"Cannot tolerate! Attempt to cost save, due to regular brand name which my Workers Compensation is now denying! Thus, my MD, in the interim prescribed a Genaric. I've tried in the past to utilize a Genaric form, yet, couldn't tolerate. Have taken odanestron, anti nausea medication prior to dosage, with food. Immediately, onset of extreme nausea, vomiting, exhaustion, no pain relief whatsoever. Feel drained not productive whatsoever. Can't sleep, insomnia now, although I'm extremely exhausted. Thus.......these Genaric versions continue to do more harm and continue to give any relief. Back to feeling unable to function without my name brand manufacture of my original order! This only makes my health worse! Why?"

"PERFECT FOR ME! Suffering from CHRONIC ENDOMETRIOSIS PAIN since I was 13. I am 30 now. I've been prescribed MANY diff narcotics for it, but ONLY in short-term "bursts"; After surgery, in the ER, etc. It's common, because Endo is misunderstood & most docs don't believe the DAILY PAIN! After my 7th surgery for Endo, in May, my new GYN kept me on 5mg Norco 3 x daily. I got some relief, but not enough. I lost my job from missing too much still. In Aug, I started Chronic Pain Mgmt. My GYN found one doc who is OK w/ Endo patients - RARE! Given 10mg (generic) PERCOCET 4 x daily; STRICT ROUTINE! FINALLY, I HAVE MOSTLY GOOD DAYS! I am comfortable looking for a new job now, because my pain is minimal. No more "Pain absences"!"

Percocet 7.5/325 (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "I have back problems and will eventually need surgery. I have degenerative disc disease. That's the easy way to explain it. In my case, I have bulging at L5-S1, spinal stenosis and a lot of arthritis and bone spurs. That's my lower back. I have a bulging disc, arthritis and scoliosis in my Thoracic. If my lower back isn't bothering me, my upper back is. Percocet 7.5 seems to be the perfect dose for me. I'm prescribed to take it every 4 hrs. The thing that sucks is anytime I've gone to the e.r. for something else, they dismiss me because I'm already prescribed Percocet. My back pain has evolved around the Percocet so any added severe pain doesn't respond and ive recently started having kidney stones."

Percocet (acetaminophen / oxycodone): "After breaking my back and being rated disabled because of the permeant nerve damage, and constant pain this is the only prescription that helps me lead as close to a normal life as possible. I have tried several other options and none have been effective. I was told to get in the best shape of my life and stay like that, so I am, but that just keeps me at a certain level of comfort. I hate being stereotyped into a group of users, I am not a user. When I have gone several weeks without it, day to day tasks are incredibly difficult. Being a college student, having my prescription is the only way I can sit and study. It allows me to put the pain in the back of everything and concentrate on studying. I do make sure i am not addicted."
