For Pain "The Malinckrodt generic Norco 10/325 is utter rubbish! Shame on them and the FDA. I’m glad I found this site, so now I know it’s not in my head. I just wanted pain relief from dental surgery, and what I got was nausea, headache, and my stomach was so bad I was literally rolling around in bed holding my stomach, moaning. Not sure what’s worse: the pain or the nausea and headache from these pills! All of us can’t be imagining this! These pills are poison!!! SHAME ON ALL INVOLVED!!"

For Back Pain "I have had 24 surgeries over the past 18 years. I had a very severe fall. This medication has made it possible for me to live a normal life. I have heard of people abusing this drug. Maybe I'm the lucky one because if I take more than it says to take or too soon, it makes me nauseous, but only if I don't wait at least 5 hours between doses."

For Pain "I've used this on and off for chronic pain and other health conditions. I find that, for me, it's the only thing that takes the edge off without bad side effects. However, I recently filled a prescription and was given a form by a new manufacturer - Actavis Pharma. They have bought out Watson and changed the formula. Shortly after taking one, I was extremely nauseated and had a horrible headache. It made my pain much worse; I was in bed most of the day. The pharmacy I go to only prescribes this brand now because it's cheaper. There are numerous complaints online from people having bad side effects like I did. The pill ID is 2172. If you're given this brand and have problems, please report it to both the FDA and Actavis."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I was prescribed Norco 5/325 to manage post-operative pain from a tooth extraction. The first time I took it, I took one pill, became really nauseous, and didn't feel any pain relief. The second time I took 2 pills. I didn't develop nausea, which was good, but I also didn't experience any pain relief or drowsiness. It was like I hadn't taken anything at all."

For Back Pain "I am not at all pleased with this supply of what my pharmacy gave me this month. They have hardly any effect for the pain I have in my back. They are soft and have a chalky film on them that makes me feel sick to my stomach when they start to dissolve in my mouth before I can get them swallowed. This product needs to be pulled from the shelf."

For Pain "I have been on and off of 7.5/325, 4 per day, hydrocodone for almost a year. I am not sure what is going on with these generic pills or their manufacturers, but these do not work well at all, and I'll go off of them just to see if it's me or the meds. It is definitely the meds. They don't offer much relief, and it's concerning because people in pain are getting prescribed these meds, and it's as if they're not the same medication as they were years ago. I seriously think the generics aren't the same anymore, and it is extremely noticeable. I have been switched to different brands of generics, and each time they make me feel sick or offer no relief. Someone needs to look into these generics and have them tested for efficacy. It is very odd to go off of this med and take it a few weeks later and notice no pain relief, just nausea."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "This medication worked well for my pain after a C-section, but after 3 days I began to experience horrible nausea and headaches. The nausea caused me to strain my stomach, so I stopped taking the medication and experienced headaches several days after quitting. Overall, it was an effective pain reliever, but for me, the side effects were too much."

For Back Pain "I have chronic back pain due to herniated disks, sciatica, and left knee because of torn meniscus, Baker's cyst, as well as osteoarthritis. I had reached the point that I could barely walk except for very short distances around the house. I take Norco 5/325. I have had injections to both back and knee with some short-term relief. With Norco, I was able to participate in aquatherapy and take my small dog for slow walks of 20-30 minutes and do some core strengthening exercises. Norco does not completely erase the pain but reduces it to a tolerable level that allows me to be more active. CDK and gastritis rule out NSAIDs. Norco does not make me nauseous. With the change in the status of Norco, I now have to see a pain specialist monthly for a new Rx."

For Pain "What was in those lovely yellow Qualitest/Parr H/A 10-325? I see some people didn't care for them compared to nongeneric Norco, but over and over I see that 'yellow pill'. Me too! I called 20 pharmacies in my area trying to track it down when my pharmacy stopped carrying it. No one had it, except one fellow said he could order it, he doesn't bill insurance. After a couple of months on 'Mallinckrodt', I called him back, but he couldn't get it anymore. Apparently, it's made in India, maybe that's where they have the 'good poppies'. So, I'm joking, but I would appreciate hearing from anyone who actually knows, no wild harebrained conspiracy theories please, what the difference is from one manufacturer to another? Last Rx came from 'Camber', far worse than 'Mallinckrodt'. I don't really know if they work because they won't stay down."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I was taking Percocet for some 6 years, and I felt it was time for a change. I was put on Norco 10-325, the same level as the Percocet I was taking. The first dose gave me a pleasant high and seemed to be effective on the pain, but about one hour later, I became horribly nauseated and vomited up the medication! Future doses proved the same results. This went on for about 10 days, even with an empty stomach. I tried Dramamine, water pills, Bonine, Metoclopramide, but no matter what, it made me horribly nauseated! In addition to that, I felt very lethargic, brain dead, and my sense of taste and smell seemed to elude me. Although it did relieve the pain, the side effects superseded the benefits. I am now back on my Percocet 10-325."

For Pain "I've been taking this medication for 6 years. Just last month, the pharmacy gave me this other brand, which had U03 on it. I've never seen this one before. The effectiveness of this was not good. It made me sick to my stomach, also. I've never had an issue with 10/325 hydrocodone until this month's supply. Will never get these again!"

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I have been given Vicodin for severe migraines, back pain, wisdom tooth removal, and kidney infection with kidney stones. It never fails to make me feel nauseous, give me headaches, and make it incredibly difficult to function at times, but it did take away my pain. After my last ER visit, I asked for something other than Vicodin, they gave me Percocet, and it works well with minimal side effects."

For Pain "I am in pain from a shattered knee. First started taking the blue Watsons, which worked wonderfully in 2005. Then the government cut everybody back, and I started taking the 10/325 yellow Norcos, which seemed to work OK. Now, all of a sudden, I cannot get those anymore, and these white things that say M367 from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals do nothing but make you sick to your stomach, do not take you out of pain, make you sleepy, and no one else can help you get anything else. So now I’m going to be forced to switch to Percocet, which is terrible for you, but that’s the only way to get out of pain because nobody can help with this Norco problem."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I'm taking Lortab for the pain from getting my wisdom teeth out. I'm really lucky that I had them because when the anesthesia wore off, the pain was unbearable. Since then, I've taken one pill or maybe one and a half if the first one didn't help after an hour or so. That only has happened a couple of times though, and mostly at night. The side effects I got are (listed from most present to rare): loopiness (like I'm slightly drunk almost), extreme mood swings (I've cried multiple times over nothing), itching (mostly on my face, not too much), constipation (only slightly though), and nausea (only the very first time I took them, and with two pills). Overall, worth it. Takes care of the pain."

For Back Pain "I received a 5/325 prescription to pass a kidney stone or pain thought to be from stones. It helped to lessen the ache so I could sleep, but after just a few days the dose didn't do much of anything. Taking 10/325 helps, but I can't function on it. Ten days later since the ER trip, and even taking one pill or less a day, I feel kind of like a zombie, have nausea, and dark urine. I do not know for a fact it's from the medicine, so I do think it's worth trying if you have mild to medium pain. I wouldn't make a habit of it since it's known to be very addictive...if you can deal with the pain."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "Taking for sciatica and lower back pain, 60 mg/day, 10/325 - not much relief, can go higher but really messes my stomach up. May ask to go back to original Percocet at 30 mg, which worked better. Stomach pain from Norco is in lower stomach and sides, where original pain was, so I'm also not sure if I'm treating the cure sometimes. Kills appetite, mainly nausea, 60 mg lets me get through physical therapy okay, but am losing weight fast (15 pounds/1 month) from nausea - just not the right one for me - not fond of Percocet either, but don't know of anything 'between' that might work."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I have been given this medication 4 times this year. The first time was in March for a pulled tooth. The second was after my gallbladder surgery, the third was after a hernia, and this time was for some more dental work. For years, both codeine and hydrocodone gave me horrible side effects and reactions. But I think I've built up some tolerance to medicines over the years. I have to take Phenergan with it and half a Benadryl. It makes me semi-nauseated and itchy. It mellows me out and helps oh so much with pain. I have been given various strengths and even liquid form. Works great!"

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I was literally unable to function during my menstrual cycle due to severe menstrual cramps. Hunched over, crying, shivering, nauseous, insane level of cramps. I also suffer back pain. I used to attempt to deal with it by taking 800 mg ibuprofen, which led to my getting painful gastritis in less than a year and, ironically, never even really worked. After getting my wisdom teeth pulled and having my cycle at the same time, I was enlightened to how this was the perfect pain management medication."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "Extreme nausea, along with hot flashes and dizziness, masked any improvement in my pain condition. It was so intense that I decided that I would rather deal with the pain than suffer another dose of the side effect."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I also noticed the change in the effects that my Norco had on me. I have arthritis head to toe. Sometimes I feel I'll ache all over even though I had taken the prescribed dosage. At times I have had to take extra to stop any pain. Usually, I just feel a little nauseous but better from the pain relief. I noticed the new ones that are hard make me sick. Something definitely has changed in them."

For Pain "This medicine was great when I broke both my tibia and fibula. I used to have to time it and take 2 about 40 minutes before I thought I would need to get up and move. It was great, though. I have a weak stomach, so I found myself often getting nausea from it, but if I ate something small with it, I wouldn't feel queasy anymore. All doctors should instruct you to wean yourself off it slowly so you don't experience withdrawal."

For Cough "I took one for another pain issue, but I was also suffering a severe cough at the time. Cough went away, almost like magic. Didn't really put the two together until I did it again the next day. But like what another writer posted, take too much and prepare for some awful hallucinations. I only take a half dose. The nausea side effect can get annoying as well."
