Sudler eHealth Group Announces Second HEALTH + TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT

New York, June 6, 2012–– Sudler & Hennessey, one of the leading global healthcare communications agencies, is convening North American eHealth thought leaders for the second Health + Technology Summit, on June 14, 2012, at the Harvard Club in New York City.

The main goal of the Sudler eHealth Group’s Summit is to provide a platform for key healthcare stakeholders to build a consensus around potential solutions for reform. The successful, initial Health + Technology Summit in November 2011 identified HIT interests and challenges among stakeholders. The June Summit will provide the opportunity to listen, converse, and, importantly, develop directions for actual business and policy solutions.

The current challenge is that the major stakeholders, consisting of government, payers, providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and patients, all have very divergent needs; however, with substantial government and private sector resources committed to transitioning the existing procedure-based health system, significant change is already underway across every facet of the healthcare delivery maze.

According to Louisa Holland, co-CEO, S&H The Americas, “With all the different stakeholder interests, we designed the Summit to help each group better understand the other groups’ needs. Technology companies will see the value of physician work flow, pharma executives will better understand how accountable care can change their business, and providers will fully recognize the significant impact of the new healthcare consumer. By elucidating each perspective, we hope to identify directions for effective change.”

Roundtable conversations will include distinguished executives and thought leaders from J&J, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bayer Healthcare, The Epilepsy Foundation, Harvard, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Cisco, and Xerox.

The panel of presenters includes recognized experts in the field:

• Joseph Kvedar, MD, Director, Center for Connected Health, Partners Healthcare

• Joel White, Executive Director, Health IT NOW

• Sachin Jain, MD, MBA, Brigham and Women’s Hospital

• David Wiljer, PhD, Director, Knowledge Management and Innovation, University Health Network

• Bill Evans – Executive Vice President, Chief Digital Officer, Team Chemistry @ WPP

• Alan Brookstone, MD, Chairman and CEO Cientis Technologies

• Thomas Stringham, President, Cientis Technologies

• Jeremy Nobel, MD, MPH, Harvard School of Public Health
