Roundtable for Reporters: Industrial Biotech Companies Discuss USDA BioPreferred Certified Biobased Product Label

(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan 19, 2011 - Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO):



  The USDA has finalized regulations to implement a voluntary certification and label that will help consumers clearly identify biobased products made from renewable resources and will promote the increased sale and use of these products. The regulation will appear in the Federal Register on Jan. 20, 2011. The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) will host a teleconference with industrial biotech companies that intend to use this certification and label to identify their products.
