Arteriocyte Takes the Lead in Promoting Building Future Pipeline of Women in STEM Career Fields
CLEVELAND, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Don Brown, CEO of Arteriocyte Cellular Therapies Medical Systems (Arteriocyte) and Terri Sandu, Executive Director of Hard Hatted Women (HHW), are combining efforts to raise awareness of opportunities for women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines. They will inspire, celebrate and encourage women to choose careers and obtain the requisite education and training to thrive in STEM fields at a breakfast to be held tomorrow.
As a growing biotechnology company with a continual need for new, well-trained staff, Arteriocyte has always taken an active role in advancing the inclusion of women and minorities in STEM careers and education. While the percentage of women participating in these careers continues to increase, women still represent only 11% of working engineers and 32% of chemists.
