Aptuit Introduces Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix, a Fully Web-Integrated Interactive Voice Response System Providing Customers with Easy Access to Real-Time Data

GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul 9, 2007 - Aptuit, Inc. announced today the introduction of Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix, a fully web-integrated Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). Clarix LLC is based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and provides an innovative suite of eClinical software products including the most advanced, fully web-integrated IVRS in the industry. In conjunction with the introduction of Aptuit IVRS, Aptuit will make a minority investment in Clarix and name one member to the Clarix Board of Directors.

Aptuit IVRS is an advanced system that uses the latest release of Clarix's fully web-integrated IVRS solution for randomization and clinical supply management. This will provide Aptuit's clients with a powerful centralized control center for managing their entire clinical study (or multiple studies) in real-time via the phone or the web. The Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix offering complements--and will have seamless integration capability with--Aptuit's Clinicopia(R) platform, the world's first industry-specific Clinical Trial Supply Management Suite and the most comprehensive end-to-end solution available for the clinical supply industry today. Aptuit's investment in Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix furthers Aptuit's commitment to providing customers with speed, visibility, flexibility, and control in their clinical trials

"Aptuit is actively and rapidly delivering on our promise to supply our biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients with application systems that allow them greater control over their clinical trials, and reduce the inefficiencies of the complex and specialized process of clinical trial supply," said Michael A. Griffith, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Aptuit. "Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix supports our goal of engineering a better drug development process, in this case by allowing for active management of global supplies across multiple studies, which ultimately reduces supply waste and the bottom-line cost of clinical trials in an increasingly global clinical trial environment."

Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix is designed for rapid deployment, is fully web-integrated, and has advanced reporting functionality, including the ability for users to build real-time reports. The system is supported by a live technical support team, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix can support a variety of study designs including those with adaptive randomization schemes, adaptive trial designs, and complex dosing algorithms.

"Clarix has developed an IVR system that is unparalleled in the industry based on deployment speed, complete web-integration, powerful reporting capability, and broad functionality in managing various aspects of clinical supply packaging, labeling, and distribution," said Jagath Wanninayake, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Clarix. "Our IVRS matches well with and enhances Aptuit's current information technology offering. Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix provides Aptuit customers access to a complete suite of cutting edge technology to access, manage, and make real-time decisions based on the large amount of data generated during clinical trials."

Aptuit is constantly investing in and improving their information technology offering for customers. Aptuit's investment in Clarix, and the launch of Aptuit IVRS powered by Clarix, closely follows the deployment of Clinicopia 4.1, the industry's leading inventory management system and first off-the-shelf release that is ready for deployment without customization and a simplified qualification by customers. Aptuit Clinical Packaging and Logistics has also begun the implementation of this latest release to support internal operations. Aptuit will launch Clinicopia 4.2 in the spring of 2008, rounding-out its web-based inventory management system.
