I am currently taking Zyprexa and Clozaril and want to switch the Clozaril because of heavy side effects. What is my best option in terms of taking new medicines?
On this web site there is a 'interaction checker' at the top of the page. This should help you with your questions. Your doctor is your best option for changes in new meds.
Best to you :)
Igis; Jamie is correct; Now you know how to use the interaction part of this site, But I believe you are right as far as your doctor not wanting to make any changes to your medications, But you are going to have to have a direct talk with the doctor. Tell the doctor you want to try some of the newer medications you are tired of the side effects of the Clozaril side effects, Try and keep calm and see what the doctor can figure out there are many options these days. Let the doctor know that you checked on the two that the doctor said and a computer told you that it does not have interactions. So you know that there has to be something else you can try and let him or her know you well be willing to go back to the Clozaril if the new type medications don't work out for you. As you know it is very important to stay on your medications with your condition. But if worse comes to worse you may have to talk with a different doctor that is more open minded. best of luck, And feel free to come back and let us know how you are doing or if you have a question about something else we may be able to help you with. But it is a possibility the doctor knows you best and knows that these other ones won't be enough to keep your system under control and if that is the case have the doctor help you with a way or by adding something to make the side effects more tolerable. Have a great day.
