I've smoked for 51 years and enjoyed every puff. I've recently had three stents installed in my heart and I'm told smoking makes my blood sticky.
No smoking cessation plan will work without your cooperation. You have to WANT to quit to be successful. If there were a magic pill that would make everyone stop smoking, voila,,, there would be a lot less smokers! Too bad it isnt that easy! Zyban is only a tool. It can help some people who want to quit crave cigarettes a little less. Have you thought of trying an E-cigarette? It is a nicotine delivery system that is like smoking but doesnt have the smoke-it is water vapor and many find it just as satisfying as smoking. You can begin getting lower and lower nicotine doses until you can get to no nicotine and wean yourself off that way. It is hard to quit, I know, I used to smoke a pack a day and I sometimes still miss it and I havent smoked regularly in 28 years. It can be done though. I quit cold turkey-they didnt have E-cigs when I quit. Your health is a good reason to quit and is singularly the most important thing you can do to improve your health, if you are a smoker! You might call your insurance company to see if they have a smoking cessation program, if not, there are many options online if you google smoking cessation programs. Good luck!
I have following suggestions.
1. Start Meditation , Yoga and Prayers .
2.Increase Exercise tolerance as much as you can.
3.Smoke with Mindfullness, Awareness and establish the Happiness you get while smoking in your Mind.
4.Once reached this stage , reflect upon whether you need to continue smoking or follow Doctors advice.
5.In all probabilities , smoking will cooperate with you and decide to say good bye to you.
6.It will be your choice to follow your Doctors advice or enjoy the smoking thruout the rest of Life.
7.Try to reflect Divine Purpose of your Life and help others.
I am awre you may find my suggestions idiotic--Why not Try ? God Bless
