I take Zolpidem for sleep and lat awake for hours. What should I do?
Zoldipem needs to be taken right at bedtime, preferably on an empty stomach. Don't eat anything for three hours before you take it. Then get in bed, lights out, quiet, no TV. No cell phone or tablet. The light from them counteracts the effect. It should kick in very quickly with an empty stomach. Good luck.
In my experience, when any sleeping pill is taken daily, the body becomes used to it. It is best to take it only on occasion and learn other methods to help you fall asleep. Read up on something called "sleep hygiene". It may also help for you to have a sleep study done. Some companies even allow them to be done at home although the best are still done in a lab but the downfall to the lab is that it is harder for people to fall asleep somewhere other than home.
