My doctor wants me to switch to zoloft. I've heard prozac is activating? I had anxiety with it not sure if it was a real side effect or break through anxiety. Is zoloft a better choice? I work up every 2 hours on prozac which made things much worse bc I get anxious around sleep..has anyone been through this? She mentioned trazodone... I'm so scared to take even more drugs... does klonopin help? And how long do u have to stay on these other drugs, will the zoloft just take over?
Hi Lindsays68 You know both are in the same family of drugs SSRI,but we all react different as far as results,Most on prozac i heard lots of complaints of increase anxiety,or nervosness For me zoloft was much better less anxiety and really helped my panic attacks but we are all different, with it i did take trazodone for sleep i found the lowest dose of trazodone kept me asleep but i well warn you when you first start trazodone it has a hang over effect but it well goe away and make sure you start on the lowest dose 50mg.Most people with our problems do have to take several medications to get the best results the doctor most often starts one at a time just to see if you really need the other we also dispenced much more zoloft generic than prozac with all you say about what your on sounds like you need a change one nice thing many people switching from one ssri to another it does not take as long to get results.even with thiis i do need klonopin a couple times a day for the heavy anxiety we are all different it sounds like your doctor is on the right track stick with it stay positive things well get better just takes some time and finding what works best for each of us..good luck my friend ..Chuck Wise Sr. Retired Pharmacy Techneician Cpht. hope this well help some of this info is my own experence.
