Wife is receiving radiation for breast cancer therapy and has a cold with sore throat. Dr prescriped zpac for the sore throat. My wife is on natropath meds that are okay'd by the oncologist.
This drug is effective and commonly used for multiple bacterostatic, etc. cond. While there many side effects most people don't have trouble with it. It is advised to take it on an empty stomach, unlike other abt.'s. You should avoid much direct sun light. It can cause nausea and other abdominal issues, vertigo, fatigue, headache, chest pain, diarrhea and gas, yeast and vaginal infections, rash, angioedema and nephritis. It should be avoided if you have liver(hepatic) conditions. It should not be taken at the same time you take antacids!(if they have aluminum or magnesium).Wait at least two hours. Can increase INR if taking coumadin. After initial treatment you need to replace good bacteria that can be depleated with good yogurt or specific supplements. Some people gently cleanse the colon a full week after treatment. Natural supplements can be used to reduce the liklihood of an overgrowth of yeast. One unusual thing many providers aren't aware of is the use of this drug with IV Morphine. Can cause adverse responses that mimic withdrawing from meds. Keep hydrated and i hope she feels better soon. Hope this was some help! Two
