... ear had started aching. The pain went away a day after taking the first dose (2 tablets). Since taking the last dose yesterday, I woke this morning with a plugged ear and a slight ache. I know the medicine is suppose to continue to work in your system for the next 5 days, but if my ear is starting to hurt again, should I see my doctor to start another set or wait 5 days for the medicine to continue to work?
The Z pack is very broad spectrum and covers most things. Many ear and sinus infections are actually viral. The bacteria come in later with all the phlem. When the Z pack does not work, you move onto another med and often are seen by an ENT to check with a scope. At least that is how it goes for me over the years.
Yes, give the doc a call and let him/her know you are having symptoms. They should have reduced by now.
