... that come back now and again, Her Dr. recommend Zeasorb AF but we cannot seem to find it recently. I ordered it from a store and was assured it was AF but when we picked it up it was for athletes foot. Why do we have so much trouble finding the a f, all they have is for athletes foot and jock itch in the stores
it is for athletes foot, that's the af. That is the strangest thing I've ever heard to put on pressure sores. She needs to get out of that chair a few times a day and lay down off her butt. Does she have a gel cushion? How deep are the sores? Different things would be used for different depths. Are they red around them? Do they have drainage or odors? Be sure she gets extra protein, takes zinc supplements and vit C, to build up her skin. If you can answer my questions, I will try to tell you what I would do for that specific stage.
AF stands for antifungal and this drug is commonly used for jock itch and athletes foot because those are types of skin fungus. Just because it says it is for athletes foot doesnt mean that you cant use it anywhere there is a fungal outbreak. It does seem to be a strange thing to use on pressure sores unless she has a fungal rash in the area too or the fungus excoriates and that is why it opens up. She needs pressure relief if it is caused by pressure.
