I have a 21 year old daughter she has social problems, bad anger issues, depression, bad mood swings. I had to take Yutopar for 3 months 1 pill every 4 hours. I had no side affects of this drug but that doesn't mean that my child wasn't having these side affects instead of me.
This is an additional question rather than an anseer.
I took ritidrine for 3-1/2 to 4 months in 1984. My daughter now has OCD and Bipolar diagnoses. I have often suspected that this is a result of that medication. This is the first time I have found any supportive evidence. I'm not aware of any lawsuits but would be more than willing to join in a class action suit and so would my daughter. On my side, I developed allergies and Chronic fatigue. Does anyone know if there is a good way for my daughter to address these issues?
I was given Ritodrine in 1985 to stop preterm labor. My son has been diagnoses with ADHD and Bipolar. We do not have a family history of either so I was shocked when we received the diagnosis. He cried constantly as a baby and had bad behavior as he got older. My mother who had 6 kids said if she had a baby like him she would never have had another child that is how bad he was. I had another baby 3 years later and was given the option of bed rest or medication when I went into premature labor . I picked bed rest because I couldn't do that medication again not with how it made me feel and I felt it had something to do with my sons behavioral issues. My daughter has never had any of these issues and I am greatfull I made that decision for my pregnancy with her. I just wish I had been given the option of bed rest with my son and never have taken that medication. I really believe this medication is what caused my son to have ADHA and bipolar.
Please read my other posts. There is clearly a correlation between ritodrine/yutopar during pregnancy and mood management and other deficits in children... which manifest early and last a lifetime. My daughter has had some success with DBT therapy but everything is a struggle in terms of focus, follow through and mood.
My son was born in 1991(2nd born son). He cried constantly as an infant and went through severe anger outbursts as a child. He was diagnosed with ADHD at 5 yrs old. We even struggled while he was on medication. He was tested again at age 11 and diagnosed with Bipolar and ODD (oppositional defiant disorder). Since becoming an adult he has struggled socially, holding down a job, experimenting with drugs and even went to prison for a while. I was prescribed Yutopar for preterm labor for 3 months. I have 3 other boys who have never had any behaviors close to the same behaviors as my 2nd born and I was not prescribed Yutopar with any of the other pregnancies. I truly believe that Yutopar has destroyed his life.
