My husband thinks he pulled a hernia in stomach yesterday. It's sore and I can see a swollen area but I can't make him go to hospital. He's been on Xarelto bout 2 years now. Is this, if it is a hernia, life treating? I'm not sure what to do? Any facts on this situation would be helpful. Thanks.

He might not want the hospital now, but I guarantee he will be begging to go if the hernia gets strangulated (very dangerous as it may take an intestinal or bowel resection). The silly thing is, if surgery is required now it will be done via keyhole surgery with rapid recovery. Hernias do not spontaneously disappear.
