So I got my depo shot a week ago (I'm 4 months on the depo) do I have to wait 3 months to change birth control plans, or can I do it now?
You can do it now. It just means you'd have 2 lots of protection for the next 11 weeks. IUDs can be painful for some women, especially those who have not had children, so it will give you chance to see if you are ok with one, if you get it at least a week before the end of your Depo, if not sooner.
You will still go through the withdrawal from the Depo artificial hormone when it starts wearing off. Your body is just getting used to it, at this point. Things could be messy for a while, in terms of hormonal side effects.
