The difference beween a normal stroke? I had a AVM - cerebral aneurym. I looked up what the ischemic stroke it seems like they are about the same? I don't want to be in a message board to where the members can relate to, you know?
After all these years, I'm fascimated in what this medical conditon. One thing I do is analyze everythingd... lol I can't help it LOL : )
I have so many websites about the AVM it's crazy. I look forward in hearing from you all soon.
The avm or aneurysm stroke that you had is caused by bleeding into the brain, with pressure caused to an area thus damaging the brain cells in that area. An ischemic stroke is caused by a blockage of blood vessel or vessels with a clot or cholesterol plaques or a stricture so that the area does not have enough blood supply thus decreasing the oxygen supply, and damaging the brain cells. Basically its just a different way of damaging the brain. The results are often the same or close to it.
I know we have spoken about this on the ' private messaging '. As the others said above they are pretty much the same. With my Vascular Dementia some of the 5 spots in my brain are TIA's ( Ischemic stroke) & some are from were I have had Severe migraines the vessels have so much pressure that the Vessel burst. Each time you have these issues then the area that the vessel was damaged then depending in what area & what part of the brain it is in you will probably have some type of effect on your function.
