I have been told that prednisone is the drug of choice for this condition, but I am looking for an alternative. I have been taking 500mg of naproxen/esomeprazole twice daily for about 4 weeks. My condition remains the same, but the naproxen keeps the pain level at a point where I can function normally. Still some pain, but tolerable. I would like to get off of the naproxen, but I would rather not take steroids. I am wondering if pentoxiflline might be an answer. Which would you recommend for me? Thank you for making this information available.
