My new doctor was alarmed at me taking 2000mg a day. Said I was likely type 2. I quit 8 days ago & started testing for diabetes. My averages are: 90 before breakfast & 106 2hrs after lunch. I'm sure these are good levels, but fear the metformin may still be skewing the readings lower.
Your question has me confused you take metformin if you have diabetes not before you know unless it is for another problem. At least a week maybe a little more for it to clear but I notice the difference if I just miss a dose so it may be cleaned out of the body in a matter of days.
