hello..and thank you so much to the great people that have welcomed me here... i will respond to you when i have a little more free time. you are all very sweet an i appreciate it more than you know.I am wondering if anyone that has been on cymbalta for anxiety and depression, if it has helped? i am on 60 mg per day and thinking of going to 90. I have very few happy days... ughh..love and hugs to you all!!
Cymbalta even at my low dose (20 mg per day) has helped me. I also take Trazodone at bedtime to help me sleep and have Klonopin in case I need it for anxiety. Everything is trial and error when you start on a program and things must be tweaked now and then. Talking with someone helps too. It is also extremely important to get a quality sleep at night as lack of decent sleep affects everything in your life. Good luck.
I was put on Cymbalta for chronic pain and my doctor felt I was depressed as well. It did nothing for my pain levels and made me so depressed that I sat and cried every afternoon. I lost all interest in the things I love and still struggle with that one. Needless to say I had to stop taking Cymbalta and that was another horror story which I will not get into right now.
What I do know is that for some people Cymbalta is great and for others it seems to do nothing or make things worse. Now I am not a medical professional in any way but I would think that if you are already taking 60mg and have been on it for at least 6 weeks you should be feeling at least a little better if it is going to work for you. So if it was me I would be asking "Are you feeling any better than you did before taking it?"
Just my opinion and I hope it helps.
Take care of you
You won't like my answer but GET The heck off that stuff. I was on it for two years. It did not help my lower back pain but it nearly made me crazy and was hurting my liver on top of making me so depressed all I did was sleep. Lost all emotional feelings, noting interested me anymore. Was loosing my memory, urine was nearly brown (it will kill your liver) getting lost driving home, and no sex drive. But when I got off it I went through hot flashes so bad I felt like I was burning up and was wringing wet with sweat from my head to my toes. I had restless leg syndrome so bad I had to keep moving and not only in my legs but hands and arms too. Headaches from hell, like ice picks being stabbed into my eyes or head. And I have been off it for 6 weeks and still have problem with finding words when speaking, can't sleep for more than cat naps for days then fold up for 18 hours in bed dead to the world. So if you value your health get off it now before it is too late.
60 's the highest dose you should even take by all research I found. Look up facebook Cymbalta hurts worse.. it is a chat room for all about Cymbalta. I wish you luck.
