Can you get pregnant If you use protection?

Most birth control if used correctly has about a 99% protection rate (NOT Plan B which is far lower). The nitrile plastic condoms they use now don't seem as effective (tearing issues) as the older latex ones although I suspect about 1 in 50,000 people ever read the instructions for putting a condom on correctly.
