I recommend mixing it in a small amount of juice (or even something like Koolaid, Chrystal Light etc)-maybe an ounce or two. It IS nasty tasting bitter and it is hard to mask the taste. I used to give it to a patient in a small amount of juice, like an ounce, he took it like a shot of whiskey then chased it with plain juice. He said this was better than just squirting it in his mouth, then taking a drink as all the other nurses were doing and he was on the high potency kind which is particularly nasty because it is so strong. Coffee is not going to be a good choice because it is a hot beverage that you are going to sip so it will take longer to get the medicine in your system to relieve pain and like Kaismama mentioned, it will make the whole cup nasty and difficult to drink. The way I mentioned above should work better.
