Person with pancreas cancer being given morphine, how does this effect their state of mind concerning comphrehending daily descions/and legal matters.
I have been on and off of Morphine several times over several years. The highest dosage was 100 mg extended release. I have always told people that if you take a pain med to cure pain then it doesn't make you high, it just takes care of your pain. However, I have also heard of people taking Morphine because of pain, but they acted and felt very high. So the answer to this question is a very individual one. Everybody has different reactions to different medications. It did not effect me in a way where I felt I could not make important decisions for myself or concerning my two children that were under my care at the time. So you will have to see for yourself if you are the one or if it is someone else how they behave while on this medication. Ask yourself if you just disagree with their decisions or whether or not they are out of character.
In my opinion each person reacts different on medication but I think lots of meds in my opinion mess with your decision and reasoning etc... the person can be drowsy, disoriented etc to were they can't think properly..and trust me I been on several types of these meds and in the hospital and wouldn't try making any really important decisions address any legal matters... unless they have someone they no very dear to them/that they trust... that would be there to help... perhaps a lawyer..maybe a notary... I guess it all depends on what is involved... just make sure it is someone u trust with your life...
