My surgeon told me to be sure and get the coarse milled fiber therapy. As I am diabetic, I have been taking the smooth texture that is sugar free. Have been unable to find the coarse milled in sf.
There are lots of items at the pharmacy they can recommend. Any whole grain does it. Quinoa is noted to be very effective as it has solvable and insolvable fiber. Every day you use these. Don't skip. Increase fruits like berries, apples, mango, etc., and veggies of any sort. 2/3 of your diet should be these items. Too much meat will cause constipation just as too much white flour in your food will.
Be careful of artificial sweeteners as they make you overeat.
