I'm 36. Never had and never want children. Looking for a long term birth control option that may help lessen my long and heavy periods. Been told by my doctor during yearly pap smears that I'm "tight" for lack of a better term, and do occassionaly bleed during sex if the guy is large. Should/can I get Mirena? Will it hurt worse for me to implant? When shoudl I get it implanted for the least amount of pain? What should I take as a pain reliever before and after?
Hi, Mirena is a great method for birth control, and it will help stop heavy periods, my sister got her Mirena and days before she went to have it done she told her doc she wanted something for pain and the anxiety of going through the procedure( which she said was not bad) but he gave her a script for 5 norcos which is for pain and he gave her 5 2mg Xanax, she took them the day before and 1 hour prior to the procedure, I myself used Mirena for three years and I didnt take anything and the procedure was not bad it did hurt but not for long, and it stopped my periods all together! So I wouldn't worry just wanted to share my story as well as my sisters,, good luck and I hope this was helpful
