Can you take ibuprofen while pregnant?

Official Answer by Drugs.com 8 Mar 2016

If you are pregnant, you should ONLY take medications under the direction of your doctor. If approved by your doctor, ibuprofen may be used in early pregnancy, but do not use this medicine during the later part (last 3 months or last trimester) of pregnancy.

As a treatment for mild-to-moderate pain, acetaminophen (Tylenol) is considered the drug of choice in pregnant women.
