This question has also been asked and answered here: Is Melatonin safe for kids to take?
Melatonin should not be used in most children. Because of its effects on other hormones, it might interfere with development during adolescence.
However, it is used in some cases but should ONLY be used in children under a Drs supervision. Ask your childs pediatrician if he/she recommends that you use it. If your child is having trouble sleeping, it is best to discuss it with your pediatrician rather than trying to self medicate.
