I was playing basketball and all of the sudden I started to feel a little bit of pain/discomfort in my stomach around the area where an epigastric hernia could be. I have very low body fat so I would be able to tell if there was a protrusion and there is not. It is somewhat painful when medium pressure is applied. Ive never had any hernia before nor any surgical incision at that area. Im not sure if it is a hernia or a pulled muscle, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, you can have an epigastric hernia at your age. Also known as a hiatel hernia. Your symptoms though should be heartburn, neausea, spicey food issues. My daughter is 24, and has been diagnosed with a hernia. Only real way to tell is to see a doc, and have he/she confirm. You might have pulled a muscle, but best bet is to see a doc. Let me know how you are doing, if really bothersome, get to Doc ASAP. Bless!!
