Buspar has a short half life, 2-3 hours. That being said, it means that 1/2 the med is out of your system in 2-3 hours and 75% at 6 hours. Usually Buspar is prescribed 2-3 times a day because it has a short half life. It also takes time to build up in your system.
Hope this helped.
