my son has been on this medication for 5 weeks but he is still hearing voices, how long does it take for this to go away.
Hello rosschell. It really depends on the severity of his illness, which I am assume is Scizophrenia. His medication is a drug that is used to treat his illness and can take some time. In the treatment of schizoprenia there are two catagories of drugs. The more powerfull ones and a second group of lesser strength. There are two varities because of the difference in the state of mind, meaning the degree of illness, psychosis. There is a down side to anti-psychotics in that they do carry thier share of side effects. Anything from low blood pressure to having blurred vision. I hope that he begins to see results soon. Best of wishes to you and your son, pledge
