I found this medication very effective but my psych won't prescribe it. What do you do in this case? My anxiety is really crippling
I certainly sympathize with the suffering of anxiety. It may be prudent for you to seek out a second opinion. But there may be a good reason that your psychiatrist is not prescribing it and that could relate to the view that benzodiazapines, such as clonazepam, are not practical long term solutions for treating anxiety.
Has your current psychiatrist come up with alternative for treating your anxiety? There are many including: the use of anti-depressants in low to moderate dosages, buspirone and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Take care for now and all the best.
Hi, mary! Besides being addictive, the long term use of benzodiazepines can actually cause increased anxiety, depression, memory loss, sleep disturbances, and many other psychological disorders. Many doctors are no longer willing to prescribe them for these reasons and because their use nearly rivals... or exceeds... the opioid crisis.
As Rathmullan has suggested it might be prudent for you to investigate safer alternatives. Personally, I have used buspirone for many years now and it is very effective for me.
Best regards and best of luck to you. Wildcat
Hi. Personally I'd either get a second opinion or ask your family doctor. Tell him/her what happened. Be truthful.
You just have to find the right doctor. My first gave me 90 2mg xan 90 2mg Klonopin adderall thc pills anything. When I couldn’t see him anymore I had a doctor who wouldn’t Rx more then 60 1mg xan or 60 1mg Klonopin. Then I found my new doctor and he had no problem starting me on 60 2mg xan then upped to 90, but xan to short acting to he switched me to 90 2mg Klonopin
